What do we get when we demand that different classes should not be desirable? We get a uniform and boring game with little variability which astounds me, especially since diversity of different aspects of warfare gave the Battlefield series it's appeal in the first place.

All the classes are different, some have advantages over others. If we keep complaining about them than you get a terrible game. I for one am sick of hearing all the bullshit that spouts from the so-called 'elite' players. I hear complaints that the G36E is too good and everyone who uses it is worthless, I hear complaints that Support guns are too accurate and armour is too good so you're not good at the game if you use them. You know what? If you're too stupid to use different things to your advantage than you deserve to be killed by these apparently 'inferior' players.

Battlefield is a simple concept to master. You kill other players, (preferably on the other team.) If you are being killed by other players than work harder to kill them, this may involve re-thinking your strategies. A poor workman blames his tools, or more fittingly blames the tools of those better than him. Just kill people and stop the elitist bullshit.

I've just read some of the bests posts ive ever seen that relate to BF2. The OP from Ty, Ty's second post, Titch2349's reply, Sarge's and Hurricane's replys. Its kinda a relief and reading this is saving BF2 for me, i have been so close to calling it a day now! I've not got the time right now to bang out the reply i wish to add but i felt i should acknowledge what the above people contributed to this thread.

I don't care what you say. Support that nade spam+resupply=fail Medics that g36e=fail and snipers that claymore spam=fail

Hear hear, I agree it was really nice reading those posts. I guess I have just been lucky and have found some servers that are very enjoyable for me to play on. None, or at least very little, of the weird stuff I read about on these forums! I hope you other guys can find similar servers.

Look, I am not a very good player, I'll own to that. Sometimes the unlocks help me, so I will take advantage of that. If not using unlocks works for you, then that is excellent. As a previous poster said, you paid for the game, play it how you want. But why flame ME if I kill you with an unlock? 'Cause you will turn around and kill me with the Ak-101 or whatever, well if you are so 1337 why did you have to use a gun at ALL, why didn't you knife me or defib me? Eh? N00B!!!  :-) 

It is like how the British Army whined about American tactics during the revolution. "They are h1d1ng behind teh tr33z! They r using rifles and not smoothbore muskets! They wont stand in a straight line teh nUbz hax" hahaha  whatever

Here is how some classes and unlocks stack up for me, an admitted not very good player. MIght give some insight into the mind of the proverbial "joe average" player and why he might use unlocks:

1. Anti Tank. THis has been a tough class for me, I am getting better at its main job (AT rocket), and I never could hit anything with a smg. The Mighty Cannon of Death (DAO) helps keep me alive long enough to rocket the tank. Sometimes. Plus it makes such a lovely sound.

2. Support. I love playing support, and I am gradually getting better at it too. I love keeping the AT guys stocked up, and that pkm is one sweet gun. I go prone in a nice covering spot, start spraying bullets all around, I rarely hit anything but it keeps their heads down so the rest of my squad can take them out. Then I stroll in and toss ammo bags to everybody. What's not to like lol

3. Sniper. I am really starting to like sniper. And I love that L96. And I love blowing people up with the clays. Sue me. Sometimes it is just fun for me to sit back, bottle at hand, and take it easy you know?

4. Medic to me is a supporting role, like the support class, and I often play it in the same way although I am much more "up front"  in the action. I like the L85 scope, it is a nice gun, but I think it is a bit of a popgun and I sometimes I use the stock guns. I have not unlocked the G36E but maybe I should? Everybody says it is so great? lol that will be my next one, I guess, and I will use it non stop so put THAT in your pipe and smoke it, haters!

heh, anyways, like I said unlocks help me. Check out my stats, nobody can accuse me of "stat padding" or being an unlock whore or whatever. Unlocks help me, I enjoy the game better, you can call me whatever you want and I just don't really care. Use a rolled-up newspaper if you are so great.

It's just idiots who don't want to accept the fact that someone got the better of them. Why admit that you screwed up when you can say "G36" and save your pride?

Got blown up by my clays? Shouldn't have rushed around the corner. Did I n00b tube you? Maybe if you stuck with your squad, they would kill me and you'd get revived. Is my skill attributed to my G36? Maybe you should get some skill yourself and kill me - the G36 isn't that good of a gun.
Personally, I love it when people bitch about the way I play. It just shows me that I'm kicking their arse.

I have to say that the engy default shotgun is alright for long range, it takes a few shots but you have a better chance of hitting them without aiming. Killed a guy the other day with four shots from one side of the Wake arty island to the other.

Whiners are idiots. I dislike the G36E because people one-shot with me with it all the time while moving too fast for me to follow. I swear at them, pound the mousemat in frustration, and go nail them in the head with whatever gun I feel like using that day from behind when I spawn. I don't bitch them out over the global chat about it, accuse them of hacks, bitch all over the internet, or anything like that.
Although I do refuse to use the damn gun, but that's not because of being killed by it; I just hate 3-round burst mode.

Grenade spamming? Hate it, don't play IO, have learned to locate the spammer as soon as they start going off and nail him in the head, or just scarper out of range. Don't do it myself because I play the game to shoot people, not to blow them up from a distance.

OMG noobz at rockets on infantry? Also despise it, but still do it myself on occasion when surprised. Don't like doing it myself because I like to use the rockets on vehicles instead. And I use my pistol where most people would just rocket someone, simply because it pisses people off to be hit and possibly even killed by 9mm round spam.

The one thing I hate and can't adapt to is jets. I can't even play them myself because the control set won't configure right, so I just avoid jet maps.

Let's complain about every goddamn little thing about everything, and only play for stats. Grow up you assholes. Play and adapt, don't blame others. If you can't figure out how to deal with a situation, then it's your own fault; don't give people hell for playing the game and using what was put there to be used by the players .
