I actually have 4 GBs of ddr2 ram with heat sinks... it helps but this neat little crab thing really cools everything down

I have 2 gigs of OCZ Ram that came with Heatsinks..

That is what a heat sink is, on those OCZ Ram thats a heat PIPE.

IMO, it depends - if you're overclocking the RAM at all, yep, they're essential.

If you're running stock speeds and the rest of your cooling solutions are good, you shouldn't need them.

They might be a sensible precaution on high-end systems running high-end high-speed ram, even at stock speeds.
