Haha the second picture looks like the two guys are stood on a very hairy cock. Part from that its all very straight!

First pic looks a bit rough around the edges - are you using a pen tool to make these, or the wand? I recommend the pen tool...
And I agree with sarge - for this style, an all black tank looks the best.

either turn down light on a layer with the soldier / tank or desatuate that layer.. then you'll get that black shiluet.. then just smack it on top of some other things and viola..
