Thomas, you ever been to Alpine before?  It's awesome.  On topic, I saw Rage when they went on tour with Wutang in Indiana.  Awesome, nuff said.

And to people who don't like the fact that they are political on stage, well that's why they started the band.  It was always about more than the music.  Tom Morello graduated from Harvard in Political Science for crying out loud!  And he's from Libertyville, Illinois.  How could he not be political, haha *sarcasm*

Love 'em.  Alpine Valley is about an 1.5 hours from here.  They've had some killer shows there, and it's a very unique venue.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there are any Rage Against the Machine fans here.

They're one of my top two favorite bands of all time and I was pretty upset when they broke up, especially since I was supposed to see them play live.  They were touring with the Beastie Boys (on the Rhyme&Reason tour, I believe) when Mike D hurt his shoulder a couple of shows before the Chicago one.  While they were rescheduling that show, Zach de la Rocha (the lead singer of RATM) left the band.  This was in 2000 I believe.

...then this year they reunited and played Coachella, a music festival in California.  Rumors abound that they were going to tour and it was made official that they would play Rock the Bells, a music festival in New York.

Well, today their tickets went on sale for their only midwest show, at an outdoor venue called Alpin Valley in southern Wisconsin, about an hour and a half north of where I am.  I set my alarm for 9:56 since tickets went on sale at 10.  Sure enough, I got mine.

Anyway, is anyone else a fan of these guys?  Moreso, is anyone going to any of their shows?

Kick ass band!   I have seen them live at least 4 times.  I don't agree with many of Zach's views, but I like the music enough to not care. although Zach says people who don't agree with him shouldn't listen.  bite me Zach!  still like the music.

I like audio slave, but Toms guitar style seems so out of place without Zach. I'm glad Chris Cornell is back on his own (would prefer soundgarden)
I would be willing to bet there will be a new RATM cd before too long, without Rage Zach does not have a voice, and he NEEDS to be heard.

I've been a fan since 1992 when "Killing in the Name" and the RATM-album came out. I hope they take their tour to Europe / Finland, because I missed them in 1996 when Evil Empire had come out .

i agree, audioslave are also awesome.
although their split up has various silver linings.  the chance of rage reforming and the fact that cornell is pretty good solo, i have euphoria morning which is a great album
