This must have been posted before....

I am having trouble earning my armor service ribbon. Does anyone know if both IAR requirements must be met in the SAME round? I have gotten 20+ kills in a tank IAR many many times, and I know I must have been in a tank for more than 20 cummulative minutes IAR.

Usually the round ends right before I get my last kill....

Any thoughts?

ah crap.

Then it should be IAR: 21 kills AND 20 minutes in a tank

Yes, you must accomplish both requirements.  Try not to die.

Well try to get as many kills as possible quickly so you may bide your time to make the time requirement. Do this by defending a CP.  A good one is the Gatehouse in Karkand.  There are always guys trying to go there.  So sit tight once you get your kills requirements and you won't be dying as much, thus spending more of your time your armoured vehicle.

You should be engineer so you can drive your tank away from the fight and fix it.

I got mine on Stalemate with an APC (my favourite Vehicle on Stalemate) and I didn't even tried to get it that round.
Just play the game and sometime you get the award. That's how I got all of mine.

Karkand 64 size, have your mate follow you around in a APC, both of you engineers, me and my clan do this a lot, we get 30+ kills each (one tank, two APCs all in a line all engineers, cant touch us    )

As for most things in BF2 the keys is indeed teamplay, prolly the best maps to try and get this are small and fast paced maps like  Mashtuur , Karkand and Sharky.

Sharky is the the least favorable beacuse of the Choppers and there TV missiles.  I got mine on mashtuur, 36 - 2 was my K/D scores at the end of the round. ))

If you try on Mashtuur play as MEC (I guess for all 3 maps its best to try as MEC), guard your tank spawn so you don't lose it. They WILL come and try to get it because it is of strategic value to mec's, just wait for them to come  get some arse whooping. Keep an eye out for the blackhawk, if you hit the jackpot you get 6 kills everytime and then the movie "BLACKHAWK DOWN" will really mean something to you .

Hint : If you use a server browsing tool like All seeing eye or gamespy try to look for server's with a timelimit above 20 minutes.

Hi,

I got mine using the old Commander trick - being a PASSENGER in an APC and using ARTY kills  :^ )

Like most badges/ribbons it's best to find a 64 player map, with a restricted number of players e.g. 8-20
per side, so the game lasts long enough ...

Good luck
