Recently I got my new PC.
It runs Vista, and my specs are:

- 2 gig ram
- 8800 gts (xfx)
- intel E6400
- Asus P5N-E SLI, nForce-650i SLI

Even on the lowest video settings, I get a major fps drop.
Going from 90 fps (all high settings) to 15-20 fps (all low settings)..

Is there a way to fix this?

Fraps will significantly drop your fps when recording video, if thats what your talking about.

lol wtf.

Vista is resource whore + bf2 which is resource whore.

even then, I wouldn't expect that much of an FPS drop.

hmm, let me ponder...

Vista is definitely not an operating system your going to want to game on.  I'm building a desktop PC this summer and I'm definitely only going to be putting XP on it.  Vista is constantly using your GPU, CPU, and RAM even when you aren't doing much of anything.  They have a lot of work to do on it before it becomes as stable and as efficient as XP.  In my opinion, it actually is no better than XP, but just looks a little prettier, although some disagree with me.  Use the gadget that shows you CPU and RAM usage, you'd be surprised at what it does when its "idling."  (At least from my experience.)  If you can, get your hands on a copy of XP and you'll notice MUCH less of a drop in performance when running two programs.  Or get a quad-core processor and 8 gigs of RAM, those are fun too.  How's $999.99 for the Quad-core Extreme sound... :-O
