Smart dogs, dumb owners. (Kinda borrowed from the "Smart bombs, dumb leaders" slogan lol)
Dogs are like humans, if you flog the shit out of them their whole life and don't teach them how to behave properly what do you expect? Although Pit Bulls are a pretty full on breed, so are many others. A dog from the same litter as my bitch (no pit bull in them) took down a small boar on it's own when it was 6 months old (ie it had never been taught to hunt). You can't tell me attacking things is only a pit bull trait. Some dogs are better at it, but that's why it's up to the owners to be responsible. Mine can get fiery, but she's not about to go killing little old ladies' poodles because she's been brought up in a loving and affectionate environment (plus we keep her from getting out into the street). If we'd kept her in a cage in the back yard her whole life and taugh her to fight it'd be a different story.
There's lots of other breeds out there that are just as good as a pit bull for anything you'd want them for (except maybe dog fighting - a fucking weak thing to do if you ask me) so I don't see why so many people want them if they're not going to take proper care. But the pups are very
cute.
EDIT: I've just been having a look at more websites, I never realised how good looking pit bulls can be. All the ones I've seen are scraggly looking things.
