I've been playing BF2 fine (more or less, you know EA/DICE) for about a year.
I have the SF expansion and the AF booster.
All of a sudden, my game stopped working completely. The shortcut, when clicked on does nothing but give my mouse the little hourglass for a split second, then just continues doing nothing. The shortcut to Special Forces does the same thing. I am able to get the launcher from the autorun working, but when i click "play BF2" it just closes the window and does nothing.
As far as I know I haven't done anything drastic to my comp. Yesterday I was screwing around with my Oblivion files. One thing I did was to make all of the files in my {documents and settings/user name/local settings} hidden. (what happened was, I selected the properties to make them all unhidden, then I thought that would screw it up, so I made all files, folders in local settings hidden.
I know for a fact that it screwed up my oblivion game because I had to make an oblivion file that was in local settings visible again to get that game to run. However I didn't see any EA related files in local settings.
I have not uninstalled my game yet because it will be a pain to get all my profiles and booster packs back.
Any ideas or help
