This has been bugging me for a very long time now... I try not to say anything about it, but its got to be done and I doubt anyone will agree with me... and this will get Flamed and Locked.

But seriously... If all you do is play Karkand...and Complain about Karkand...then don't play Karkand.

I don't know how to put this any other way then calling you people noobs. If theres what... 12 Maps or so...and you only play 1? ...or for some people only 3... Then your a Noob, You suck.

This is you -- *Picks up Free Revive and Easy Kill Points and Rubs them over my Genitles* "Oh Yeaaah!, Im So 1337"

"Omg I Can Pwn So Many Noobs In My Tank In City Maps"

This game strongly Revolves around Stats, Everyone Wants To have Good Stats (otherwise why would you play Ranked Servers). If You Have A High K/D Ratio... and all You Do is Play City Maps. Dosen't Mean Your Good, Thank you.

So you got 5-20 Hours in All Other Maps... and 50-200 Hours in Karkand. Wow...your Amazing, You got the Karkand Whore Medal. (AKA Golden Scimitar)

I mean...I was bad with CS:Source. I Found the Office Level on the 1st or 2nd Day...And Loved It...and It Was All I Played For A Month. But If Its All Everyone On That Server Plays...and Your Rank Only Reflects Appon That One Server... Then...Who Cares.

But Don't Compare Yourself To The People Who Play The Whole Game, You Can Show Your Noob Stats To The Others With Noobs Stats To See Whos The Bigger Noob.

Just Accept That Im Right And That Your A Noob...Or Play Some Other Maps.

Who Agrees With Me?

(And If You Don't Agree With me, Shut Up And Go Back To Karkand)

Some people like to play infantry orientated maps like Karkand because they like using the infantry weapons without some annoying cock dropping bombs on their heads every 5 minutes.

Then there's the tank whores who spawn kill but no one really cares about those anymore.

I have played Karkand more than any other map because of the infantry fighting. I like to be able to run 5 feet and have a guy around that corner. Since I hit 20k I have been moving around alot more lately. I have been trying to get flying down the for last 2-3 weeks.

It is nice not having to worry about bombs coming down on your head, because your the one raining death.

Don't expect us to just listen to your opinion and not file our own.  Also, expect to be flamed, "Please don't" is a viable excuse for EVERYONE to flame me.

I love beef.  It's my favorite food.  Should I stop eating beef just because there are other foods around?  No.

seriously why should i waste my time on a huge map, running from control point to control point because all my teammates take off with the vehicles, one person in a humvee, one person in a buggy. Thats boring I find more action in the city maps, so im gonna play there.

Pfft, I'll just take my infantery skillz and go back to Karkand..
So you play 1 map, does that make you a noob? You play 1 weapon, 1 vehicle or only at 1 flag.. It doesnt matter to me. The game is about enjoyment and if you enjoy that 1 level, weapon, vehicle or whatever then I wont stop you. Yes my most played map is Karkand, I'm such a noob .

For someone who has 2/3 of his kills and 1/2 of his time in vehicles, I could say a couple things to you as well.

Also, sure you go around to different maps, but Karkand is still your most played.

who cares who plays where with what kit how many times???
the only person that matters is the player himself.
if he is having fun then thats money well spent on his part.
let it go.

While most have played all of the kits at one time or another, looking at anyone's stats you will probably find a kit with which they are most comfortable and skilled.  So what, does that make them some kind of noob or whore?  Not hardly.  Also, certain types of maps require different types of game play, and so people will stick to those maps that have the type of play style they enjoy the most.  Does that make them a noob?  Not hardly.  I prefer the city maps and that type of game play.  The other maps are too large and you often can't find a vehicle, can't get a team member to give you a ride, as they speed off, or the idiot is loading the vehicle with C4 to go jihad driving.

If that makes me some kind of noob, well sticks and stones...

I'll play the maps I like to play, using the kits I like or those which are necessary given the combat situation.  If you don't like the way I play, I don't give a rats ass.  You play the maps/kits you like and I'll do the same.

Am I missing something, or arent you stuck with the maps the server puts up.  Without jumping from server to server that is.  I like to be evenly balanced and suck at them all. LOL

Whats so bad about being a medic all the time? I can actually help my team if I'm a medic. Why is it that your a n00b if you play nothing more then 1 map or 1 kit? Sure, its a shame but come on, everybody has his way of gaming. If you cant accept this my friend, you siriously need to.. Piss off.

The end job of all the kits is the same - kill. Medic has one thing that is different in that they can undo a kill, but otherwise, kill kill kill.

Jack of all trades is a master of none, to use a cliche.

I'd much rather people get some specialization through experience and then move on to other classes, than try to play them all and never actually do well at anything.

Show me a man who says "You stupid stat padding medic! How dare you revive me! I want to take my death and ticket loss and I'll not have you interfering with it!" and I'll show you a certifiable lunatic.

The fact of the matter is that the map most servers run is karkand.  So that is why most people have karkand as their most played map.  Frankly, there are only a few maps I really care for.  Daquing, Karkand, Sharqi, and Dalian. I've only played 7 rounds on Cleansweep because its just not fun to anybody not flying a jet.

Here's my take on the subject...

Look at the leader board, and look at the top 10 stats of the game player in the world.  Everyones favorite map is Karkand.  I'm gonna venture out on a limb and say that, although they may whore Karkand for their points, I'm pretty sure SOMEONE in the top 10 is pretty damn good to get up there.

Now, since the majority of players play on Karkand as their favorite map, I'm gonna say there are proportionally many more player who are very good soldiers on this game who play on Karkand.  I personally think you have to get to know a map well in order to be effective on it - that takes (for me) at least 10-20 hours.  Since I've gotten to know Karkand pretty well, it's my favorite map.  I'm not gonna bother trying to be an all around player and play on maps I detest like Dragon Valley or Kubra dam where I'm going to get jet whored every step I take.  Nor am I going to play on maps where I need to run for 10 minutes or drive for 5 in order to get to a flag, and maybe just MAYBE see someone on my way there.  If you don't have a tough armor/helo/jet on these maps, you're screwed because you can't defend yourself adequately from them (generally - I know there are exceptions so bug off).

This game is for fun and I'm not gonna piss myself off trying to play and learn maps that I don't like or want to play to begin with.  For you to have the audacity to call everyone who plays Karkand often a noob because they spent 50-80 dollars for their ability to be able to play this, you sir are a fucktard.  But back to my original point...

Many more people play Karkand, and many more people know Karkand.  There may be a lot of noobs who love this map, but there are many more people who have great skills who play this map - much more than those who play other maps.  Let me break it down...

If 10,000 people have Fu She pass as their favorite map, and lets throw out an extremely high rate of 50% of them being "good/non-noob" players - that makes 5000 people who are good and maybe all around players.  Now let's say 300-350k people play Karkand the most - and lets also say only 25% of them can be called good players - thats still 7500-8750 players who are great at this game, and therefore not noobs.

Besides, you can run around Karkand and get the shit beat out of you if you truely suck - simply playing one map doesn't mean you're bad.

And might I point out that although you play all the maps - Karkand is the one you play most.

Check mate.

I don't see the point in playing one map....but then again everyone has the right to play the game in the maps they want and specialize in the kit they want.  Or use any vehicle they want.  Only thing that bothers me is the noobish type of exploits like bunnyhopping and noob tubing.  I can still deal with those people but they annoy me.
I take pride in being good at any and every aspect that this game offers.  Why?  Because i know most can't do that.  Most people havent taken the time to master otehr kits once they dial one in.  I love flying the helos, but if they get taken, I can fly a jet, and if they get taken, I can use an armour, and if one isnt available I can ground pound with the best of them.

I feel bad for this persons rational.  You cant just go around on your merry way if theres a good jet in the sky  (Same as if a good armour squad is raping on Kark).  Take it apon yourself to make it A. harder for him  or B. you may actually take him down.  AA is very effective if used right.

now the misnomer that it takes 10 mins or 5 mins to get from place to place on the more wide open maps is just stupid.  Most times I am trying to defend a flag and get killed and say while im waiting to respawn at the same flag, it goes nuetral.  Before I respawn i can see at a near by flag there is a jeep.  So I spawn there and get to the base before they take it and be able to take them out.  A jeep is very fast and can get to the next closest flag in less than 15 - 30 seconds more often than not.

Look at my stats and you'll see that I'm a pretty well rounded kit player.  I've only recently begun to medic whore because I was trying to get to first sergeant quickly.  As you can see I have at least 15 hours on every combat kit and have the veteran combat badge for all the combat kits.  I'm a good helo pilot, a good tank/APC man, and good at transport.  I'm not good with jets, nor do I really want to be - I'm not a fan of them and I don't generally play in maps that have them.  I'm decent with AA (I have the ribbon), and I'm not sitting here complaining about it's effectiveness.  Since you can't spawn as a kit that is AA, if you're on a jet map you have to GET to AA to take out a jet - and if you're against a good jet pilot, you're pretty much screwed.

One AT on a larger map has a difficult time taking out a tank or APC.  You can be as great as you want, but it generally takes 2-3 shots from your SRAW to take our a tank or APC, and one bullet from them to kill you.  You can go as squads, but that isn't whats under debate here.  The debate is whether or not you're a good player because you play Karkand all the time.

I agree with you grips, I can pound ground, use armor, or use a helo - that's not what I'm debating.  MY experience is when I play on large maps I usually spend a lot of time doing nothing.  I play city maps because I like the fast paced action - call it ADD if you will.

"You cant just go around on your merry way if theres a good jet in the sky  (Same as if a good armour squad is raping on Kark).  Take it apon yourself to make it A. harder for him  or B. you may actually take him down.  AA is very effective if used right.  "

If you're being spawn raped, you really need a full squad to effectively deal with a jet or armor.

Just to add to Seraphim's thoughts - there is something to be said for being able to handle yourself in a situation which is all chaotic and just Normundy beach.

The larger maps offer quieter action, especially when it's a squad of say, 4 people, going up against 4 defenders for a particular flag. Both sides likely know what to expect, if their commanders are competant, as there will be spotting and both will move to meet each other.

In Karkand, things are just absolutely nuts. At any time you can be flanked, shot from the side, have an artillery dumped on your head, have a hand grenade dumped in your lap from over a fence, or have a vehicle materialize from out of nowhere. One skill that Karkand really helps to develop is keeping a third eye on that minimap display while still paying attention to all going around you. It promotes fast thinking and decision making, especially when faced with escaping a 3on1, avoiding a hand grenade without running into an even worse situation, not getting plowed by a vehicle, etc.

My main complaints with Karkand are some really questionable level goofs. Such as 32 player Kark missing APCs for the MEC side. Or the fact that MEC starts out on the disadvantage (or at least in my opinion - I'd rather be attacking hotel than defending it). Or the fact that the commander assets for both sides are rather unreasonably placed, making it very difficult for a specops to make his way in to disable them (and when he does, the people who spawn in their mains will usually finish him off quick). Only the worst teams on Karkand allow the commander resources to be down for any great length of time.
