I was thinking of something like this as well, might be a bit overpowered but could be made pretty fair if maybe the grenades only had minimal splash damage. Another possibility is the MM1 (like what Arnie used in Terminator 2) either of these would be a great unlock for the engineer or as a light armour defeating option for Anti tank, could even be used as a suppression weapon like a LMG by the support class.

The best solution to solve the noob-tube problem is to make it like real life, if the grenade doesn't travel more than a certain distance, it doesn't explode. If you've ever played Americas Army (very realistic game) the M203's only explode if they travel more than 30 metres (i think its 30) The only way you can kill someone point-blank with a GL is if you hit them in the face (which is nearly impossible) I personally only use the GL's in BF2 to kill infantry groups and light armour (plus the occasional helo), i hate the people who bunny hop around only using their GL's just as much as anyone else but i think this solution is simple and effective.
