- am I the only asshole to Unlock the MG36 ? whats it good for?
MG36 is good but only for long ranges...
The MG36 can be switched to burst for more accuracy adding to the fact that it is already more accurate than the other 4 heavy machine guns in the base version of BF2.

I love the mg36.
It makes support effective at medium range and not defensless at long range which is most situations you are in.

yeah i got 1 unlock available, choosing the mg36, mp7 or scar-l
think i will go for the mg36 as i have to play lots of support to bring up my hours for the vet badges.

And it's reload time is really short too. Or at least in comparison to the PKM or M249._j5689_ wrote:

Personally, I hate it. I'd take RPK-47 or the PKM anyday. I've tried to use it, figuring there must be some advantage to it, but I've yet to see it...
I used it today for the first timey. I switched from the PKM and I loved it. It is very accurate at 3 round burst.
Yeah just unlocked the M36, this thing hums alot of ammo before it overheats. It's the most accurate of all but basically it's a Spec Ops unlock of the G36C, with more ammo. I prefer the PKM over it but I am not used to it yet, so who knows. As of now it blows. Don't bother with the Scar-L, if you think the M36 is bad.....
Its a good gun, rather accurate when not scoped, burst fire is great for long ranges and it takes forever to overheat. However so tuned into the PKM that i only use the G36c on maps were i wont be in close range firefights. Close range PKM+prone= lots of dead enemy.
If I can, I'm going to get the MG36. I'm not a big Support player, (only just over 2 hours total,) I like accuracy, and though the PKM has a lot of power, (I managed to take out a Blackhawk today with about 50 bullets,) It has awful accuracy which pisses me off.

I am not too sure about using it at long range. got two unlocks last night and though i would take that MG36 as i need to get more time with the support class, and also selected the F2000 as i need some more time with the assault class.
used the MG36 in a round on karkand and didnt really get a chance to use it at close range against a large amount of enemy, but i did at one point i was at some high ground and saw a team mate getting shot by a spec ops guy. started shooting at him with the burst mode but didnt hit him once. so changed to fully automatic and still never hit him.
i had experienced the F2000 before after nicking it from a dead soldier, i originally thought it was not up to much but after i unlocked it i thought it was soo much better than the G3. the accuracy seems much better, and i usually kill someone after 3 or 4 hits. the granade launcher on it also seems to be much more accurate.

The MG36 is great! I use it alwasy when i play on wake. That map, with all the hills, is perfekt for that weapon. And it's a gread feeling when you take out sniper from the distance with it.
But I don't like the burst mode. In my opinion its better start firing... and dont stop firing till the enemy is dead or the gun is overheating.

Yeah, I love the MG36, makes me play support. I wasn't a big fan of the PKM because of how slow it fired, but the MG36 is a FAST FIRING machine!
Also, for anyone wondering, 100 round clip, takes 74 bullets to overheat itself, with NO STOPPING. Quick reload time, and I took out a guy with a G36C in a mid-range prone battle. Must have hit him on the head.

yes...ur the only "asshole" that unlocked the MG36...lol jks...MG36 rocks...miles better than the standards and heaps more accurate than the PKM...good for long range...the burst mode doesn't really do much for ya tho...doesn't need to be there if ya ask me...newhooz....
Well, I don't have the PKM, so the MG36 won't be available to me when I get my next unlock (in about 400 points). I've heard good things about it though, and people here seem to like it.

MG36 rox ...Nuff said really
i've still got one unlock left. and, because i won't be promoted again for another 20,000 points or so, i don't plan on choosing anything until the next expansion comes out and (hopefully) gives me more choices. with the expansion, i unlocked the SF assault, medic, and special forces kit. i'm crossing my fingers for a new sniper rifle.

For sure the PSG1. Because it's from H&K. Does H&K pays EA for produkt placement?
I wonder why everyone keeps saying that. Honestly, H&K weapons are probably in the game because they're very commonplace with armed forces around the world. That's like asking whether IZH pays games around the world to put Kalashnikov rifles (AK-47 etc.) into games.
As a sniper, I hate the MG36. It makes support buggers far likelier to hit me, which sucks.

Ty I dont feel so stupid now, Well I am still stupid ....but allways lucky
As I've been going for my expert support I realize that all the support weapons are just awful. Honestly the mg36 doesn't improve anything.
It odd, being a good support player seems to be a more inherent skill than an aqquired one... My best rounds (several over 100 points) are all via my PKM, and I can kill whatever I need to with it. It might just be luck, but I can usually come out on top in sniper fights just because the sniper is scampering to get away from all the flying lead and gets pegged. And I cant count the number of Spec-Ops with their "uber-accurate" G36's Ive taken down at medium range. My suggestion: If you dont like support, try it out in Karkand and Sharqi, I have never gotten less than 50 points in either of those maps since playing support, and I have never used vehicles on ANY urban map, nor do I spawn camp, dolphin dive, bunny hop, base rape, etc.

It seems to be good for suppressing fire other unless you need to kill the broad side of a barn.
