Not sure when it happened or how it happened.  But now when I get into a vehicle and I'm using the normal view I can hear, but if I switch to an outside view I lose all sound.  Not sure if it's gone or if it's very low.  But it's kind of annoying.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

No. It's supposed to be lower because the camera is farther away from your vehicle's engine.

I understand that.  But say I'm in a jeep and I honk the horn, I use to be able to hear it no problem.  But now I can't hear the horn at all unless I'm using the view from inside the jeep.  It's almost as if there is no sound.  I can faintly hear something though.  But I go back to the inside view and all sound comes back.

It still should be quieter.

I dunno. Did you get a new sound card?

Update your sound drivers and check you Audio Settings for BF2.

I've checked all of the audio settings, they are all on and turned up.  No new sound card.  I noticed this as I just played right now.  If I am in the tank, and I turn the turret around to the back, the sound goes away as well.

so i changed my speaker type in the audio setup to surround sound speakers ... it was on 5.1 surround sound.  this seemed to do the trick.  no clue how that got changed, but apparently it did.

i'd give out some karma, but it says i don't have enough posts.  sorry.
