Upgrading My Computer

It really is time to upgrade my computer, its currently almost having a heart-attack trying to play BF2 with its old
x300.

I plan on getting the following, I am going to uni in a year so its no point me buying a top of the range rig, seeing as I will be barely playing for the next 5 years of my life.

Or should I get some alternatives for about the same price? I really am not looking for a top of the range rig, just something that can get me running at medium - high graphics.

If you can go for an 8800. I know its a bit pricey but itll help you out in the long run because DX 10 games are coming out on the market.

Intel core2duo?
I wouldn't go for an AMD. Not now anyway, maybe when their phenium comes out. But for now core2duo is the best; by a lot. An AMD will not play you well for another year. Unless you get the FX-60 or something that powerful.

I'm guessing he only wants or can afford to upgrade CPU, RAM, and GPU. Not CPU, RAM, GPU and MOBO, which would be required if he went C2D.

Oh and pretty much everything needs to go up this will just be the main parts, I dont really want to touch the motherboard unless I have to, and Im content with 160gb HD.
