About a week ago i upgraded my computer got more ram and a new video card. I have a 8600Gt and 3 gigs of ram and I'm only getting 20 fps playing bf2. I'm playing with everything on medium and with geometry on high. When i first join a server it doesn't lag at all i get about 50-70 fps then about a couple minutes in the round i start getting 30 fps and lower and start having really bad lag. I updated the drivers and everything and it still didn't help. Could this possibly have something to do with the processor or the motherboard? It is just really making me angry cause it doesn't do better than my old video card.

EDIT: didnt know if it should be in bf2 help or tech section.

what processor do you have, it might be causing a bottleneck.

1. check your ram - http://www.memtest86.com/
2. check your video card - http://www.futuremark.com/

What OS are you running? Have you ran spyware software and maybe defragmented?  did you run driver cleaner before you installed the drivers for the 8600?  If not, what you need to do is uninstall drivers from add\remove programs (even the old ones if you havent already).  Next boot into safe mode and run driver cleaner, remove all instances of your new video card drivers and the brand of your old video card drivers too.  Reboot when done, reinstall latest drivers of  your 8600 and give it a test.  If it doesnt help after the spyware clean and driver clean....id recommend a format and reinstall of windows.  Hope that helps
