I was playing bf2 last night no problem with my old CRT monitor and I updated to a Samsung Syncmaster 244t. I am hooked to the DVI connection on my ATI Radeon 9600 pro. At first I thought maybe the resolution and that didnt change anything, Then I tried installing the monitor drivers and that didnt do it. I also installed the updated video card drivers but it still crashes. This is a sick monitor and I paid next to nothing for because someone wrote broken on the box. Please help me fix this. Thanks

- New monitor, now game crashes when it starts
I dont remember exactly how to fix that but something about deleting your bf2 folder in My Docs and reinstalling bf2 I think. Anyone remember the exact solution?

I get the same but myne is a 20 inch CENTREX tv monitor, no drivers or anything but sometimes it just goes black and the computer or game crashes??
it shows the entry screen, the one that first shows up and then after that the screen goes black like it is loading and then it shuts down at that point
Try resetting all of your bf2 settings in BFHQ

I cant get into bfhq
hmm, well, inside the bf2 folder in MY Docs, there are some files that store your video settings for the game. That's what needs to be deleted so that next time you load the game, it recreates those files with the default settings. I can't remember which files though,. Sorry

how about G:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles
and delete the video.con files
and delete the video.con files
Video.con.
Just delete all but General and Controls.

Yes, delete all of those profiles and it will create a new one for you. Leave the folder called Profile though. Evrytime you click "save" after changing a setting, it creates a new file so they are safe to delete.dub_deuces wrote:

plug in your old monitor and turn down your resolution back to lowest, then try
well, I at least got in to the game, all the colors are all screwed up though after the intro video. it also keeps acting like I alt-tab out of the screen... dont know why that is happening either
i think im gonna have to reinstall... as much as I hate to do that... it takes far too long to get it done
