hey
I was giving it a lot of thought..
wouldnt it be cool, to earn the "Congressional Medal of Honor" ?
https://www.medalofhonor.com/images/medal1.jpg

description :
The Medal of Honor is awarded in the name of Congress to a person who, while a member of the Armed Services, distinguishes himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against any enemy of The United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which The United States is not a belligerent party

details :
The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of service is exacted and each recommendation for award of this decoration is considered on the standard of extraordinary merit.

Criteria :
- 30,000 kills in an airplane
- 30,000 kills in a helicopter
- 35,000 kills in an armor
- 35,000 kills in a transport
- Global : kill streak of 80
- Global : 180K+ score

it sounds sooo cool to have it !
I want to open a serious talk about this option. As you can clearly read, this IS the highest award given by the US armed forces. a player who meets these demands, truely deserves such a *unique* medal. The tasks todo are almost too big to handle..
I know, that if this medal was in the game, THAT would inspire me to keep on fighting.. you know.. when the moral is low, the crew is tired and hungry.. you get the point.

now your turn to speak

well, this is exactly what makes it so unique.. and notice the criteria i wrote, its all about the individual's performance. has nothing to do with ttotal time played, that hilarious 3:1 ration or any other crap.

PURE PERFORMANCE.

There you go
the medal of honor is only in the US
there are 2 more countries in core BF2 and 5 more in SF

It would be cool to have it
they should make a medal that the whole world knows like- Noble "killing" prize or something

the others are possible
But its impossible to run over 35,000 poeple

here are more realistic requirements-

80,000 global kills
100,000 teamwork points
IAR:80 kills
Sharshooter infantry medal

its not running over people, you can use the gun in the back too or just command from it and get arty kills

I think a better thing would be a Teamwork Medal or something. 100000+ Teamwork points and 50 Teamwork points IAR. Kill streak of 80 is impossible for me.

Medal of honour has already been spoke about in these forums I beleive use the search function, in short EA decided not to include this into the final game as it would take away meaning from the actual medal of which most recipients have lost their lives for the USA.

Redteam has the more realistic stats required.......

A VERY good idea. Of course the Distinguished Service Medal also seems to me to be the equivilant
but hey what do i know??

Medal of Valor.  30,000 team points.

Speaking of rewards, this pic has been posted before, but does anyone know what the awards in read squares were? I think this was the plan in the beta BF2

so, be a no-lifeer and play thousands of hours, then whore jets to get the streak. No thanks.

There's no Congressional in it (the real one)...

And how do you get a kill streak of 80 without being a jet whore or padding?  I'd worship anyone who did that without a vehicle or stat padding would definately earn a tip of the hat.

EA should reset your stats if you get scores like that. Now that would be FUNNY.

Would I be the only one to rotflol?

I would say the requirements would be:
Purple Heart (It said self-sacrifice, so you would probably be wounded)
50 or 60 kill streak
Sharpshooter medal
100,000 Global Points

Not sure if its even possible to have the game work this out but the Medal of Honor ideallyhould be won by doing something super heroic like rescueing 6 soldiers from a crashed helo while under intense enemy fire and being wounded multiple times in the process. Obviously BF2 couldnt work this out nor allow you to rescue team mates but theoretically in should be won in a manner similar to that.

How about if you can keep your entire squad of 6 alive for the entire round by reviving or healing while they are taking enemy fire (cannot just hide on the map, every member needs to be taking enemy fire ie hit by enemy rounds) and if just one man is forced to respawn then you fail. Also your the only one thats allowed to be medic and therefore if you die thats it, you fail again. Maybe also you need to get 20 kills IAR as well...

I dunno, just thinking randomly here...

I like the idea of an MoH, but I disagree with the Purple Heart Requirement. The PH is something that people are proud to not receive (in BF2). Not all recepients were wounded/killed though many were and you were lucky if you weren't if you were a recipient.

Why did you give the transport more kills then the helicopter? Also i think there should be something like 20 000 kills with assault rifles ect.

Virtually every medal can be done in a vehicle, would be nice to see one that requires ground skills as well.

You ever notice in movies that are supposed to be in olden days the protagonists have perfectly white shiney teeth,

like hell they had severe tooth decay and missing teeth back then, christ they didn't even have soap as recent as the victorian age.

@ ratzinger - Yeah I agree. I think the VC was recently given to a soldier who, pulled 6 of his comrades from a burning Scimitar while under intense enemy fire in Iraq. Saving one then going back for another etc etc... Might not sound like much but thats courage...

Or how about the guy Lt. Spears from Band of Brothers when he ran thru the centre of the German occupied town to reach the other squad and then came back (true event)!

@ gene_pool - I agree. The Assault combat badge should be attained only as a ground unit. Not as an assault unit in a plane or a tank. If you get in a tank or a plane/helo your kit should auto swap to a "pilot"/"tanker" kit that is only active in vehicles. That way when you earn your medic/support/spec ops etc badge, people know youve done it the proper way.
