hmmm, i think i'll push myself to learn the basics on the old acoustic guitar, and then buy a lectric one when i start earning money again
My bass.
I swear there was a thread like this before. (Found it)
I'll get a pic of my guitars later, and my drums are at the studio.
as for what I have and can steal from teh internet:
Some random Kawai Piano
Buffet Crampon Bb Clarinet
GAX75 from Ibanez
Yamaha DTXPRESS III
ZTR 750 ZeuS Trumpet (C)
Waldorf Q+ Synthesizer
Arbor AB500
Best instrument ever:
We just bought ours two weeks ago after using it at the store for a year
and I'm about to buy 2 other guitars: the most beautiful thing in the world:
this picture does not do the JEM justice
and an Aria MAC50/7 string that I've been eyeing (2nd hand though)
And ghetto, you like thick sticks? I hate anything thicker than an A7... it just feels so bulky and... messy.

SLAYER!
GIVE ME ONE!
I have two electrics. One's a beginners Strat copy, (Peavy Predator,) which used to be my Sister's which used to be my Cousin's which used to be some guy my cousin knew.
My other electric is a "Kay" Les Paul copy I found in a junkpile and did up. I need to replace the strings sometime.
Both are pretty shitty guitars, but I got them dirt cheap, (free for the Kay.)
I also use my Dad's steel string acoustic Framus guitar. It's a wonderful instrument and it's fucking OOOLD.
One day though I hope to buy myself an electric of my choice and a Maton Electro-acoutsic. The guitar I have my sights on is $2500 NZ but it is fucking wonderful - hand made and crafted in Australia. Bloody orgasmic sound. One day...
I don't know about what kind of Electric I want - I like the idea of a Fender Telecaster Deluxe. Those things are wicked bad and can take a thrashing. Both Dave Grohl and Jon Toogood use them and as they are both in my top five musicians that's pretty cool. I'm undecided though.

@Coolbeano: the JEM is wonderfull, I´ve owned a 96 series once, but sold it because at times I´ve only played metall guitars, idiot me.
Hows the Aria? Reminds me a little of a Schecter Hellraiser C7. Thought Aria is a cheap korean product, so I´ve never tried one of those guitars.
@Ty: Replace your Kay Les Paul Humbuckers with some Gibson Burstbuckers, Seymour Duncan JB59 or some good EMG 81/60 (if you like a more agressive middle boosted tone). I´ve replaced the humbuckers of my good old Ibanez Paula´s (77 and 82) and the shitty sound of the cheap clone was gone.
Framus, is great. The other guitarplayer of my band uses a Framus (dunno which one exactly)

The Gibson Flying V is awsome, I guess this is the gothic series right? Good bang for the buck. Absolutley fits for nearly every music style, but who wants to play classic with a V The one in the pic has EMG active humbuckers, which are replaced by the owner I guess. The original series comes with T904/905 Gibson pickups. They sound awesome in the V because of the good old mahagoni/sipo wood and the huge body.
About the Les Paul, classical instrument. Too expensive nowadays (in germany a standard 57 is around 2.500€). With the standard Humbuckers not the best choice for fast paced metal imo. Good for some Metallica riffs, bad for Slayer riffs, you´ve got the point. Anyways, it´s always good to have a Paula in spare
Got a accoustic i picked up in spain, custom made, and a strat. was going to get a proper jaguar, but it sold by the time i got the cash

Is there any diffrence between the Squier P Bass and the original Fender P Bass? Expect the price though
I like thick sticks for certain stuff. ie heavy metal/rock type stuff. For faster things I use 6a's. 7a's feel like twigs.Coolbeano wrote:

I mainly play guitar (I mean, who doesn't at some stage in their life?) and have collected a few over the years... will just post the ones I 'play' now:
Jackson DKMG 'Dinky'.
Fender Telecaster Classic '72
Can't really be bothered to link all of the amplifiers and effects equipment... they're not 'instruments' anyway
I also am really into electronica, and would have a room full of gadgetry if only it wasn't such an expensive business to get into. Here's the stuff I'm using so far anyway:
microKORG Analogue Synthesizer - a seriously respectable small analogue synth, although I also find it very useful as a MIDI controller.
Akai MPC500 Drum 'Machine' / Sequencer - great piece of kit, makes rolling out drumlines and rhythms 100x easier.
Of course, in all electronic-wizardry nowadays you cannot dismiss the world of software, but alas I can't find 'pictures' of all of them .
Ableton Live, Reason, Fruityloops, Traktor 3... just a few to name of the software VST's that I use coupled with my instruments.
Really want to invest in one of these as far as electronic music production goes...
God I love monomes! Best sampler/sequencer ever, if only /drool.
At the moment i run all of my electronic stuff through a desktop PC, although this summer I'm looking to take the plunge into Apple fanboyism and get a Macbook so I can go properly portable and play live performance. Also I have a (financial) fantasy of someday investing in some decks and DJ'ing at parties and small clubs also, which would mean I need some of these beauties:

I'm thinking final scratch. No need for a DJ helping with records no more. Just a laptop full of music, your basic turntables, a mixer, final scratch and you're ready to go mr. Selecta! But if you're gonna play at clubs, you need your vinyls, if some authority is going to check your playlist. That is if the laws are the same for musical industry as in our happy little country. But you're not a pirateUzique wrote:
