Theres over 70 weapons though so nothing says it isn't one of them.
Also looks like we're getting loss of body parts as well.

That sounds fucken awesome!M.O.A.B wrote:
Weapons are customisable I believe. Everything needs to be assembled as well, so like attaching Javelin launcher to the fire control box etc. Everything you carry will be visible as well, weapons I'm sure of, mags not so sure. So you'd get your weapon/launcher on your back etc.Sisco10 wrote:
Even if there were just the units for the current mission ("just" ranging from a dozen up to a few dozens on a Flashpoint scale), most of them are acting in real time. Only a small portion of the mission design is supposed to be scripted, thus making the battles different everytime you play. Acting and reacting to the players moves. Including the graphics needed to be calculated for all of them.M.O.A.B wrote:
Maybe, but wouldn't that only apply to MP? Sp in the original game used to have enemies and allies in set locations (there about) where the mission would take place. Rather than having random units stationed throughout the gameworld alongside those needed for the mission.
As for your weapon pic: Judging by the scopes, there are sniper rifles. Are the weapons supposed to be customizable? If so
A javelin is there too? Awesome!
Have some karmaz for not getting tired to shove the info up this thread!

1st person view one, but not sure if this one was pre-rendered. Doesn't have the HUD for one.
Edit: Found another ingame one

It looks pretty generic, but if the reviews are decent I'll probably pick it up.
I'm very worried about getting it on the PC though. It's only $40 which usually means it's the incredibly sub-par version.

could it possibly be that they are publishing it themselves... that is what it looks like unless they'll do what bohemia did for ArmA and have different publishers for continents.Poseidon wrote:

Could also mean the game is great but they want to get more people interested in that hardcore style of game.Poseidon wrote:

I'm a tad confused in some respects though with the game. Examples being this brad and the UH60 in Navy colours. I mean, neither are used by the Marines as far as I know. An HH-60 might have suited the hawk role better.
For ArmA II vs OFP2, I'll be getting both

Well because the Navy uses that color and most amphibious USMC assults are combined with the Navy.M.O.A.B wrote:

Also the Marine Corps is in the "Department of the Navy", so yeah...
Anyway if there was only 1 military branch in the US it should be a joint USMC-Navy branch.
I'm getting both too but if I can save 40$ I'd be that much closer to my 9800GTX+ 512mb....
I dunno, they might use "incorrect" equipment because it looks better. It´s a game after all, despite the realism. Just my guess.M.O.A.B wrote:

Hows the first ArmA btw. Loved OFP but never got around to play that one. Worth a try?

ArmA was alright to play, but despite the graphical enhancement over OFP it wasn't brilliant. It was made on the same engine I think and had a lot of movement issues, AI problems etc. Worst part was trying the campaign when the cutscenes happened and there was nobody there because the AI had ran into a wall. Campaign wasn't the best either, didn't have as much of a story like the original were you followed set characters either.Sisco10 wrote:

Thing is the Navy doesn't use Blackhawks either. Theres a CH-60 which could serve the USMC. But the only USMC variants of the Hawk are the VH-60D and N, Nighthawk and Whitehawk. Navy uses the Seahawk.Bradt3hleader wrote:

The one from the screens most resembles the MH-60S Knighthawk. It could be that, originally one of the model pics showed and labelled a UH-60 with United States Army on it.
It doesn't really bother me or deter from the game, just a little confused if they were going for full realism. Whether its the final version remains to be seen.
Be glad since the PC is the only version getting the mission editorPoseidon wrote:

Hm, I might try it out. THe nasty KI and clipping errors were part of the reason I did not try it once it came out, I recall. THat and my system being to crappy to run it adequately. Might try it out now, just for the lulz. Thanks for the info.M.O.A.B wrote:

Far as I know both are used pretty often for the Marines. I'm certain I saw a pic of an CH53 for OFP2. Its was with the model pics they had, can't find it though.Bradt3hleader wrote:
