How so?

Not trying to be obtuse, just wondering about your views on consoles as a whole.
I think hes talking about mods.
Well, from personal experience, which isn't much TBH, is that things were always less fast paced. I'm thinking also about COD4 how you can't DL anything good for it on an XBOX360. So no mods and all. Also in multiplayer I heard that xboxes are limited to 24 players. Imagine how that would be on OPF2's huge maps.

Most of my information regarding the subject is what some reputated people over at TGN.

Yeah but ofp2 and ArmA are focused on Co-op. Have you ever played ArmA in co-op online? 2 players is enough for a kickass game, let alone 24.

Ahhh right gotcha.

Yeah no mods sort of sucks, but i see the consoles as more of a casual frag with ya mate's kinda thing. Super SRS games i'd still play on PC.

Large maps might not work very well, but the vast majority of shooters on Xbox are geared around smaller maps, so the action is fast, and normally has just enough players to be a large game, but without too much spam etc. IMHO CoD4 is best played with only 12 people for example.

Whats so bad about that?
You mean apart from horribly inaccurate controls and unfair game-time stretching mechanics? Nothing really...
I don't see any problem with the controls for a console, like a keyboard and mouse you practice and you learn how to use it.

All three versions are to be identical in terms of content and length.
That´s not what I meant. I mean a bad port of the controls technical-wise. Take MoH:Airborne. Impossible to move the mouse accurately. It´s some sort of weird acceleration or whatever.
Plus the retarded forced setups you encounter, requiring you to press multiple keys in order to do things (like leaning or taking cover).

I actually like consoles for their party ability, to enjoy a fun game while sitting on the couch with a few friends.

But is it just me, or do some of the GFX and models in terms of detail not seem to match those of the previous screens?

Oh yeah, its still looks awsm. But I'm wondering if that was made in lowered GFX and not full performance. The consoles would still be able to produce higher GFX than those in the vid. Killzone 2 being one example.

That's looks very COD4ish I think. I'll watch it again though. It just didn't seem very mil-sim like it "Should" be right? Isn't this supposed to be a military simulator and be as realstic as possible?  Also the physics of that body falling was pretty rag dolish.

but that's just me being a critical jerk...

Seems you could be right, was watching this vid. At 1:33 it shows the same shot of the Black Hawk firing as in that trailer, looks exactly the same footage but has WIP in the bottom left. Seems its more of a teaser trailer than a final trailer.

Take into account that the AI needs to be calculated for the hundreds of units roaming the island too.

Maybe, but wouldn't that only apply to MP? Sp in the original game used to have enemies and allies in set locations (there about) where the mission would take place. Rather than having random units stationed throughout the gameworld alongside those needed for the mission.

No, it is also in SP
It has been stated that you go wandering about your chances of survival are close to zero
It was also said in the IGN preview that after they hit the camp, there was a random PLA patrol close by that responded to the player and his fireteam's raid.

Found this pic of the weapons. Guessing its most of them. Though there doesn't appear to be any sniper rifles/LMG's so its probably not all of them.

Even if there were just the units for the current mission ("just" ranging from a dozen up to a few dozens on a Flashpoint scale), most of them are acting in real time. Only a small portion of the mission design is supposed to be scripted, thus making the battles different everytime you play. Acting and reacting to the players moves. Including the graphics needed to be calculated for all of them.

As for your weapon pic: Judging by the scopes, there are sniper rifles. Are the weapons supposed to be customizable? If so

A javelin is there too? Awesome!

Weapons are customisable I believe. Everything needs to be assembled as well, so like attaching Javelin launcher to the fire control box etc. Everything you carry will be visible as well, weapons I'm sure of, mags not so sure. So you'd get your weapon/launcher on your back etc.

You've got MP5's up the top left. Colt .45 beneath that. Guessing thats a QSZ-92 to the right of it. Above that are Type 05 smg's. To the right of those are variants of the SCAR-L and below thsoe the SCAR-H. To the right of those are the QBZ-95 rifles, below those look to be Type 81s. To the right are the M4 and its variants and to the right of those are the M16A4's.

Next part is a Milkor MGL on the top left, with a QPB-06 to its right. FIM-92 Stinger and either an SA-7 or SA-14. Not sure what the shotty on the left is but the right looks like an M1014.

No idea on the scopes and only know a few from the bottom.

On the left RPG2004, SMAW, Javelin.

On the right, MK.19, M2, M240, TOW I think and an M134.

Rest I'm unsure of.

There's an M21 I know of, and the SAW. No idea if it has an MP7 or SA80, doubting the SA80.
