BF2S Forums Abstinence Education total failure...official report is out.

Its fine when you want to use private donations to push something like this...blowing a significant chunk of my tax dollars to push the religious right's garbage, that's a lot to ask of me.  Granted, this administration is spending a lot more money on far worse atrocities, but this hits close to home.

Well for one sex is an option and so is marriage for men and women and ( the shock ) boys and girls in school too.

Teaching kids abstinence is not balance.  Where did I trash America?  If you have comprehension issues solve them.  I worry about my country, and I don't give a shit for Malvinas.  Thanks for your concern.

I watched an awesome documentary on this a year or so ago. They went around some small American town that was doing abstinence only for sex eduction. The crap they were telling the kids was laughably stupid. They even had born again virgin ceremonies for those who fell to the evils of temptation. After 50 minutes were up it ended with a black screen and the message on the screen along the lines of.

"Since adopting this policy, town X now has the highest rate of teen pregnancy in America"

For the people who hide behind the 'There's still a 1% chance of getting pregnant'. What's the main reasons for getting pregnant despite using condoms? Not knowing how to open them properly, use them properly, not knowing to check the use before date. The main reason for getting pregnant despite using contraception is the couple not being educated on how to use it properly.

Abstinence only doesn't work, and that's clear.  Sex education in the schools should revolve around medical facts, like STD's, how you catch them, and what they can do to you.  This should also include birth control, and the pros cons of each method.

Parents need to stop burrying their head in the sand and thinking their kid isn't doing it.  They need to talk to their kids.

Right here where I live is another prime example of why it doesn't work.  There was an article in the paper the other day about an antiboitic resistence strain of ghonorea going around.  Utah was the state with the highest percentage of increases...something in the area of 300%.

My mom beat the living shit out of me as a kid, and threatened to cut off the ol' weewee if I knocked up any poor girl, and then I joined the army.  First station was 2 years in DLI in Monterey, California, where I proceeded to fuck around half the eligible town (my roommate got the other half)...so I'm definitely not drawing any connections.

i would say that spanking can be okay if you have behaved really bad, but the thing you just described was more like a beating. spanking can be okay if you use it thoughtfull and don't over do it, and just do it when it really is a bad thing the kid have done. i hate people that beat their kids, but they shouldn't be discouraged to put a little respect into their lifes once in a while.
