That video was awesome but now I am feeling very sorry for the guys that were there just talking to eachother, milling about only to be blown apart.  You can even see the heat signature of the first victim's body parts and blood on the ground!  I know they were using the weakest weapon on the helicopter, but man that's a nasty way to die.  Must have been even freakier for the guys that say him blown to pieces and knew they were next...

It is all the same. Bullet, bomb, missle, etc... It may be unfair but it is not illegal.

If a regular enemy guy (one) is holed up in a house and you can either send a squad in to clear it or drop a 500lb bomb on it an kill the dude. You drop the bomb if available.

Tell me if you were a squad leader who had arty or an attack heli providing support you would not blow the crap out of the enemy and try to save your guys from injury or possible death. You do what ever you can to keep your guys alive. Use soldiers as a last resort to kill your enemy.

Like I said it may not seem fair but it is not illegal or against any rules. Excessive maybe but it is not superflous according to the convention. Because the same standard is applied across the board. I am not a lawyer or anything but I know what is allowed and what is not. I am not trying to get sent to jail for violating the convention.

An enemy is an enemy we may want to be really sure and drop a 1k bomb on Osama if we find him but we can do the same to a regular infantry dude just the same. The convention does not protect one combatant more than any other.  It is just how much you are willing to expend to kill one person. If budget is unlimited you kill'em all from 5 miles away and come home safe everytime.

I know you understand but the defintion of SUPERFLOUS is what we disagree on. Somebody way smarter than us defined these terms and personal feelings do not come into play.
