whisk(e)y around the world tour complete - yamazaki, jack daniels, makers mark, speyburn, glenmorangie, glenlivet, macallan, crown royal, lord calvert - jesus wept, lord calvert sucks - jameson. two fingers of each, rinsed the glass and new ice cube. i was biased before towards the glenlivet, and i still hold it dear to my heart - but here is what i've found; the japanese are making strides, the macallan is not overhyped, speyburn was surprisingly sweet, crown royal wins the smooth award, bourbons<whiskys, irish whiskey may be the second best thing from Ireland, glenmorangie is as good a whisky as the day is long, and blended anything (i'm looking at you, chivas regal) is not equal to the sum of its' parts. Thank God for distilleries, and Thank God for the men that devote their time, lives, and happiness in them.
Picked up a bottle of this. I thought it was gonna be a cheap novelty whisky. Turns out to be pretty damn good straight. Smooth but leaves a nice warm feeling when it's going down your gullet.
If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
