How about me and ATG bang heads together on future additions to the Hall of Fame? I'd be an advocate of keeping it special (an addition once a month or bevery two months with candidates having to meet strict criteria defined by me & ATG), not turning it simply into a list of regulars and additions being based on meritorious effort.

What about this option? All the members, Slinga included, choose the next guy there. Let's say Turquoise. Then Turquoise would have a vote too. All the elected members would be in the list permanently. All the members of the list can suggest a new member and the rest of the members can vote him in or not. By this time, you don't need a criteria to choose, you know who should be or not there. Bubbalo should be there, beyond all criteria. Right now there are 5 voting members.
Meh. Cam and I go at it all the time dude. I would not be upset at all.Bubbalo wrote:

Slinga, can't you stop talking about history and politics? j/kGunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Why should we have a republic and not a democracy? In spite of the fact that the first poll was pretty much a popularity contest, well...maybe it is better. I voted for Turquoise due to his quality of thoughts and seemingly omnipresence but the bugger hasn't been here in 11 days.sergeriver wrote:

But the problem is, they won't be. How many people do you think voted who don't even have a clue what D&ST is?Kmarion wrote:

I think the best suggesting so far is that Gunslinger is made an honourable mention, and from now on new members are inducted by current members. In the event of a tie vote, CamPoe and ATG (as both the leaders and well respected Liberal/Conservative respectively) can sort out what happens.

seriously, though, we need post count per subforum. I wonder if Jeff has a way to determine those.
Cameron, ATG, Kmarion, Lowing, Bubbalo, GunslingerOIFII, usmarine2005, Ken-Jennings, Pug, sergeriver, ThomasMorgan, Cougar, kr@cker, fadedsteve, ghettoperson, Varegg; those are all on my "hall of fame" list. I could probably name many more that have contributed in a good way to D&ST, but those are the ones that stand out of the pack, at least for me.
I'll update the list, should additional candidates rise up, or in case I have forgotten someone.
I am glad D&ST has developped into a part of bf2s.com that many members seem to enjoy. I bow to you *bows*

nah, don't bow. There are other people who deserve more credit than I do. Unfortunately, they are no longerVaregg wrote:

I don't have a problem with that, it takes the work off me . I was going to initiate a silent vote system next go around where people could write in whoever they wanted. If you want the existing members to simply pick from the pool of D&ST members that will work. I liked the idea of progression through the ranks to recognize the continued efforts of those who had already made it in. But implementing such a thing would be difficult and tough to ensure fairness.Bubbalo wrote:

seconded. I agree that showing some form of appreciation for the top D&ST regulars is a good idea ( apart from agreeing with them, or karma'ing them for good posts, that is ), but we don't want to have a situation where other members feel uncomfortable because they are not included in the list.Bubbalo wrote:
Besides issuing ranks seems a bit silly, and would only lead to populism and elitism.

not too many people would have envisioned a debate section on a game website.
Not with the stat whores at this site (No more silly than karma).Bubbalo wrote:
