Yeah i know that bit.. but what about one on one.. running towards each other..
Knife early, late?  go prone, jump ?

Oh, one on one?
Jump as a last resort.
Go in, crouch, knife.
Retreat, repeat.

Edit: NEVER let them get behind you.
Edit #2: Always wear light armor, and get both stamina unlocks.

always press crouch, Crtl key, before knifing... an always sprint everywere... keep tapping shift... run rings into your oppent then stab him in the neck i always tap S like i am throwin a nade seems to be more accurate,i duno why but it seems to work for me

i think knifes are the best god dam weapon on the game along side shock paddles

seriously considering going to an all knife server, just to get the badge.. i dont tend to knife as a rule, as i think you end up to close to the victim, and if they get lucky, can kill you ..

Dont go into k.p servers, they are against EA rules and lately lots of high-ranking players have been reset for using these

I have tried a few trick, using the Recon Camo to try to stealth up to them, but i gues they can hear it.

the secret to knifing is keeping your aim on the target throughout the entire knife. most people click while aiming, and THEN their soldier stabs, years after they were aiming at their target.

The best kit for knifing in 2142 is support with the infantry sonar they added for NS.  Sneaky is the best tactic for getting knife kills. 

Get behind enemy lines and then look for a squad that has taken up a defensive position to hold off attack.  The Targeted squad will have there backs to you while they take cover from your teams advancing forces if your lucky then you can stab all or most of them before they realize it.  Or if you lay next to one of the victems body's a medic will comes to the rescue with the shock paddles out thinking his team member got shot giving you one or more easy kills.  Just watch out for granades being thrown from your own team.

If you have some friends to work on it with you,  use distraction to help get behind an enemy and while they shoot at your friends you stab them in the back. 

Strait up knife fights don't happen that often and are sometimes just luck to win because of lag and poor hotbox detection.  Your not going to get any of the knife badges by just going at people with the knife (yes, sometimes people will make it sporting, but most of the time you will just get gunned down) it takes two long.  The exception being K&P padding servers.  If you really want to learn the one on one knife fighting go find someone trying to get a server started and ask them to knife fight to pass the time (same can be used for dog fighting)  or ask(PM) someone on the forums to practice with.

Besides the padding being wrong you don't deserve the Knife or pistol badges unless you make the kills in a server with normal game play(not cheating).
