Is this the possible reason why my computer runs hot

Should I take the back part of my desk out? Leaving an open back; So air can pump outward, not back into itself?

Sorry for Dark image... It's the top of my computer on the desk, all the way to the back of it. With a cardboard wall preventing airflow outward away from the computer...

I would seriously consider it. A regular budget pc, this wouldnt be a problem, but you've got a gaming rig that runs hot. Before you destroy your desk, confirm that it is the enclosed space that's causing the problem by running it in the open air first and checking the temperatures there. If it's cooler in the open air, you know your problem.

Yes, that could be a contributing factor.  But I would also consider removing your CPU cooler, air dusting it off really good......cleaning all the thermal compound off the cooler and your CPU, applying some Arctic Silver 5, and remounting your CPU cooler.

Also.....how many and what size case fans do you have?

But don't do that unless you know what you are doing.

Okay, I'm not sure about the sizes, I have 5 of them (One on CPU, One on window, One in the back, Two in the front) An optional Fan that came with the motherboard, and a fan that's on the Graphics Card, 8800GTS.

My Computer is not even a month old, It doesn't need to be reapplied on the CPU, Dust is out of there too... (AMD 64 X2 4800, DDR Ram)

Try to keep the front, back, left and top(if you have a blowhole) of your case as far clear(6 inches or better) of anything that may block airflow in or out. The right side you don't need to worry much about, since there's usually no fans or vents there.

Can you leave it out on the floor to see how hot it runs ?
That will answer your question.

Yes. I noticed an increase just when I had mine pushed to far back (close to the Wall). You are recirculating hot air.

ok you can also make a hole *on the desk* near the back soo you have a air flow going. also make sure there is no dust in the heatsink/fan and all ur fans that you have

Thanks for the help... I am unaware of whom makes my case, It's over 3 years old and has had over 3 motherboards placed in there

I think I'm going to clear out the back of the desk, If i put the computer on the ground, dust will build up 100x faster than normal... As stated before, there is a very very small amount of dust if any in my case...

I kinda' figured the heat was re-circulating... My Room temperature is about 10 degrees hotter because of my computer, I often enough during game play have to open up my window to cool down my room... You can feel a heatwave just approaching my computer...
