I'm sure you all worked out how to read the whole book, but just in case you didn't you can take "end" out of the url when you get to the "just a peek" page...

“One day, a small but powerful group decided to make a law against marijuana,” continued the officer.

“Our government started a war around the world to stop people from growing it. Marijuana became an illegal plant. Doctors tried to protest the new law, but the politicians and lawmakers did not listen.”
They should tell it like it is:

Jackie's mother began to explain why the men were being lined up and searched at gun point, in a very loud voice, almost as though she wanted the cops to overhear her:  "One day a bunch of fascist pig fuckers decided they have the right to destroy lives with bullshit charges to draw attention away from the real issues and justify more spending on creating a police state to help impose their will around the world whilst ensuring that the populous at home is either too accustomed to the status quo or too afraid of the consequences to overthrow the crypto-fascist quasi-democratic regime which has infected the seats of power..."

Whilst one officer continued pointing his gun at the handcuffed men lined up along the kerb on their knees, the other officer had walked over and was looking Jackie's mother up and down.  He then started reading her rights and handcuffing her because she still had red-eye from the night before and smelled a bit of weed.  Jackie started screaming at the officer, so he zapped her with his tazer and would later ensure she ended up in juvenile hall on the grounds that she had threatened an officer of the law.  The End.

I read about this book in Playboy a few months ago.

My lil story...

My g/f was watching Oprah and I was on the pc. Her daughter (10 yoa) was watching also and a guest said "stoner". She looked at us and asked,"Whats a stoner?".

NOw I know lowing wanted me to say "a low life hippy". I held back. Sorry lowing.

I told her it was someone who smoked marijuana alot. She said "weed?"
I said,"yes. how do you know its called weed?"
She said,"We have DARE at school."
I said,"So when someone asks you to take drugs, what do you say?"
She says, "No."

At this point her brother (12yoa) comes into the room and sits.

I ask her,"what if your best friend you've known since Kindergarden asks you to do drugs with her?"
She said, "I say no."
Her brother pipes in with "Then they aren't really your friends!!"

This is where I had a problem.

If a kid in high school tries pot, its not the 1st step into death and permanent poorhouse and stealing everything to feed you uncontrollable addiction.

With my stance on marijuana anyway, its hard to say a person isn't your friend if they smoke and you don't. But this is what DARE told my kids.

So in my opinion a book such as that isn't terrible. And the one mentioned is put together well though highly unrealistic (anyone know farmer joe with the marijuana crop that teaches kids?). And you can legally buy books about growing marijuana. Im surprised the more outrage isn't aimed towards that.

EDIT
BTW DARE is the drug awareness program for grade schoolers fyi. Cops come and talk to the kids about avoiding pushers.
I do not smoke, or use any drugs of any kind, I couldn't care less if people want to teach their kids to use it or not, it does not affect my life in any way. Having said that, as much as I do not care who is doing what, I do not care about your recovery from it. Choke on it for all I care. I couldn't care less if you drown in your own puke in a ditch on the side of the road because of it. Knock yourself out and have a good time.

I am told a joint is merely the gateway to harder drugs. I have no idea. I do not want my kids to use it more for the health concerns than the morality. Putting smoke in your lungs can not be good for you in any way shape or form.

BTW..When I say "you" or "your" I am not speaking specifically, ghettoperson, but in general.

Just thinking about a nice tall one in a frosty glass with a pile of ribs or a greasy cheesesteak....*drool*

Fuck drugs, no need to take unnecessary risks, not to mention being an illegal thing.

Kill time and have fun with something else.

As long as alcohol and cigarrettes are legal, there is no logical reason to keep pot illegal.

Alcohol and cigarettes are easy to tax, pot isn't. That's the only logical reason I can think of.

Well that's a crap reason, since it would be just as easy to put a (lot of) tax on weed if it were legal.

It teaches the kids about the other side of the issue. Ive never done drugs in my life so I can admit unbiased that the pro-pot people have much better judgment.
