Some weeks ago I read about a dad, in Lithuania I think (not sure), that had called his daughter SLK after the Mercedes... and on questions if it wasn't stupid he said something like this "If it was a boy, I would call him BMW, they are cool and fast!"

That is madness IMO!!

Calling your kid Metallica is kinda crazy also...

Serously though I think the kid is more important in this case, so good on the government for forcing these bogans to reconsider. Talk about imposing your views on your kids.
I'm sure the Metallica guys are very touched by the sentiment, but I'm sure they also realise that a tribute like that is uncalled for and unfair on the kid.
