In theory, yes. But they don't have the votes to override in the senate. They may in the house, not in the senate.Hurricane wrote:

Would this also mean that Bush would be vetoing the military funding also?
Good point, I mean, it's an amendment or something to the resolution right? So is it possible for G-Dub to veto a section of the amendment?CameronPoe wrote:

Nope, he has to veto the entire thing.Hurricane wrote:

The Line-Item Veto Act was ruled unconstitutional in 1998, so no.Hurricane wrote:

The amount of pork in the bill zeros out any creditability either party has.
50 million each to Republicans and Democrats for catering and bar expenses at the conventions.
This is American politics.

us senate use to be like that before the 1920 or progressive eraLT.Victim wrote:

congress was nonelect, thats true, but reps were chosen by state legislators, a fact anybody with basic US history knowledge (states' rights were HUGE issues during the early years) knows.
and trust me....US reps were elected FAR before the 20s.
wrong here too, unless you're counting the dictatorships and totalitarian states.teamorange wrote:

You are obviously dumber than the president if you saw a threat in there.usmarine2007 wrote:

I can only hope your "friends" in the Secret Service are smarter than you. (Not like it will be hard to do)
What a total dipshit. First, there was no threat, implied or otherwise. Second, I am sure even the losers of the SS have better things to do than read this forum.cospengle wrote:

Get a fucking life, jackass.
It will be vetoed and they will have to try again. All the Dems are doing is making thier point, just like the non binding resolution that meant nothing.
