My crappy post about how Fraps sucks inspired me to put this togeather quick. The moment I learned how simple it is to watch BR videos and record them, I thought I would make this thread for others who thought like me (Didn't want to bother with it/didn't care so much/didn't know how)
Its simple. Thanks to LawJik, r00ts, Doggehspike and others I put this togeather:
First Step: Finding the Demos
Its simple. Thanks to LawJik, r00ts, Doggehspike and others I put this togeather:
First Step: Finding the Demos
- First click on your 'COMMUNITY' Tab up by your 'OPTIONS' tab in the BF2 menu.
- Any server you played on that had BR running will be listed under your 'BattleRecorder Bookmarks'
- Click on anyone (do the most recent dated ones, older ones might not work) and click download.
- The Demo now shows up to the right in the 'BATTLERECORDER LIBRARY'
- Click 'Load Game' at the bottom.
- Thats it! Now you can watch the game! Press 'spacebar' to switch to a player.
- The demos are saved in your: Drive:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Demos folder.-------------------------------------------Next Step: Battlerecorder Commands
- This is an easy one, I will just post a link that has all the commands:BattleRecorder Playback Commands
- Play with them and just have fun watching everybody and working on your camera abilites.
-------------------------------------------
Next Step: Video Capturing- The above image shows what fraps looks like. Its simple to use, there is really no need to explain it. Just set your hotkey for recording video and press when you want to capture the video in BattleRecorder or in a live game.
- I like to record live games getting first person views, then BR shots for third person and so on. Make sure to press the capture video hotkey again to stop recording, its better to have seperate files then having one huge file.
- Open up the folder where you saved your fraps videos and drag them into Windows Movie Maker, OR Open WMM first and located them.
------------------------------------------
Well that concludes my guide for dummies. Hope it helps someone

Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
