For North Americans, the farther East you go the better the view; as the Sun sets in the West, the Moon will coming up on the opposite side of the sky in the East.

https://i2.tinypic.com/2hd8z8m.gif

A lunar eclipse occurs whenever the Moon passes through some portion of the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Moon is full, and when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so. The type and length of a lunar eclipse depends upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. The next total lunar eclipse will take place on 3 March 2007 and will be at least partly visible over the eastern Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and western Australia.[1] This moon entered the penumbral shadow at 20:18 UTC, and will enter the umbral shadow at 21:30 UTC. The Moon will be totally immersed in the shadow of the Earth between 22:44 and 23:58 UTC.[/b]

The closest thing I've come to a full lunar eclipse recently was that time I passed out in the park with a fat chick on top of me.

*starts walking downtown to a club, eclipse starts in in 25 minutes*

I might just make it in to a bar before it starts.. And the moon is clearly visible from my balcony. These are the moments you wish you had a camera that can automatically take pictures every 15 minutes. And a tripod.

Oh well, there will be new ones.

The first time I ever saw a lunar eclipse I had no idea we were suppose to have one and I was out at a bar. Talk about your holy crap what the hell is going on..lol

I hate snow clouds, and right now, the entire sky is covered, so all I get is this soft glow of light from the sun.  Can't wait until Summer, and it's a shame I'll miss this.  Yeah, too all who are in the "sweet spot" for viewing this, if you aren't having overcast weather, please take pictures for the less fortunate of us on here!  Thank you!

Sky was clear here too, until like 3 minutes before it started.
