Soundcard: X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty
Problem: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uo1qHyWegZ4

This has happened about 4 times total since I got it 5 months back, other then that its been flawless. Running latest drivers yadda yadda, What happens is i'll be playing and all of a sudden my audio starts going crazy in game and on vent, I don't know if its some kind of over heating issue or something? It seems to happen after playing for a long time (the 4 times it did it)

What he said, plus run Driver Cleaner before reinstalling to make sure all traces of old drivers are gone.

I had to set Fraps to record at half-size instead of full-size & turn the volume in the Creative Control Panel from 100% to 90% after setting it back to defaults.

*Edit:* Just our of curiosity what kind of hardware do you have?

eh, considering it only happened 4 times total in a good 500+ hours of gaming my problems isn't to serious I guess, just wanted to make sure it wasn't like over heating or something =/

There's your problem, X-Fi cards hate nForce 4 boards.  It has some sort of driver confliction I think.

I wonder if that happens due to power defficiency because someone didn't plug a floppy power cable into the card.
