Thus saying a royal "fuck you" to NATO and the UN. The rest of the world simply does not exist. Israel only needs permission from the US, despite any attempts for a peaceful solution by the UN. Nice.Daily Telegraph wrote:

You can tell it's a good poll when almost all the options are tied - GJ! +1
It wouldn't matter, Israel is supported by America. One of the major reasons the Muslim extremists hate us so much (besides the fact we're infidels) is because the US actively supports IsraelLiberal-Sl@yer wrote:
If the Israelis are willing to take the initiative to take out the nuclear generators from that crazy Iranian dictator (yes he is a dictator i don't want to hear otherwise), then by all means let them do it. Just let it be known that AMERICA DIDN'T bomb them.
Perhaps if Iran wouldn't brag about how they're gonna wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, more people'd believe them.Hawk390 wrote:

Diplomats. Wait for Iran to strike first so they're the bad guys.
U.N. calls U.S. data on Iran's nuclear aims unreliable
"VIENNA — Although international concern is growing about Iran's nuclear program and its regional ambitions, diplomats here say most U.S. intelligence shared with the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency has proved inaccurate and none has led to significant discoveries inside Iran.
The officials said the CIA and other Western spy services had provided sensitive information to the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency at least since 2002, when Iran's long-secret nuclear program was exposed. But none of the tips about supposed secret weapons sites provided clear evidence that the Islamic Republic was developing illicit weapons.
"Since 2002, pretty much all the intelligence that's come to us has proved to be wrong," a senior diplomat at the IAEA said. Another official here described the agency's intelligence stream as "very cold now" because "so little panned out."
...
The CIA still faces harsh criticism for its prewar intelligence errors on Iraq. No one here argues that U.S. intelligence officials have fallen this time for crudely forged documents or pushed shoddy analysis. IAEA officials, who openly challenged U.S. assessments that Saddam Hussein was developing a nuclear bomb, say the Americans are much more cautious in assessing Iran."

I would nuke the who fucking world and wipe the human race off it so everything can start over again
No seriously.
No seriously.
How is it the US's decision? It would be the decision of the Iraqi government that the US is constantly telling us is not just a puppet regime. I can't imagine any legitimately elected government taking a course of action that is so obviously contrary to the wishes of its people.

Why would you think otherwise? Have the Iranians tried in any way? Have any of the member nations working on it said anything regarding it?Pubic wrote:
Do you honestly think Iran would be allowed into that project????iamangry wrote:
Edit: P.S. If you all are really into cheap and affordable power that doesn't pollute the environment, why aren't you contributing to any of the various projects dealing in nuclear fusion. You have access to the Persian gulf, which would give you an inexhaustible supply of Deuterium and Tritium with which you could sustain your people's energy needs indefinitely. Oh, but you can't make a bomb with only fusion, right? Even the most sophisticated fusion bombs have fissile cores. And there's another good reason as to how we all know that you are talking out your asses when you say you want nuclear power, not nuclear weapons.
Also because there has never been an effective nuclear fusion power source developed, nor is it likely we will see one in our lifetimes.iamangry wrote:

Talk about running before you can walk.
I'd tell Israel to fuck off.
as soon as someone attacks iran, world war 3 will start. I dont think you people realize how much shit will go off if someone lets off a nuke.
"you know life is what we make it, and a chance is like a picture, it'd be nice if you just take it"
Who'll be letting off nukes? I suppose Israel could, it fits their modus operandi to a tee - if that happened it is likely that the state of Israel would cease to exist soon after.d4rkst4r wrote:

At the current rate Iran won't even have the capability to make nukes for about 10 years. They don't have enough centrifuges. The Iran situation isn't as pressing as people think.
You hope so, so do I. But that isn't the reality. Somethings going to happen soon, I bet. Israel will attack but it wont use nukes. The only way it will is if Iran goes chemical or nuclear on them.Bertster7 wrote:

The reason Israel is frightened and wants to stop Iran is justified, the Muslim world hates Israel.
If you live 10 more years, there will be. ITER will be the first energy producing fusion reactor. The fact that a successful fusion power source has not been developed should be incentive for the Iranians, who could claim participation in something that helped the entire world (for once, goddamn islamofascists and their unwillingness to contribute to the world's research efforts) which would increase international opinion of them significantly. But seriously, unless you're in your 70's, you will see a fusion power plant by the time you die.Bertster7 wrote:

Talk about speaking on subjects before knowing about them... and you come from Britain even, the home of JET, the largest nuclear fusion reactor in existence. Tisk tisk.
I'm quite up to date on fusion developments. There is very little to be optimistic about. There needs to be an enormous breakthrough on how to use the power produced by a fusion reactor.iamangry wrote:

It could happen at any point, the chances are it won't happen for centuries. That could change if the research focus on fusion power changed, but that is unlikely even with all the hype about climate change.
What's all this about JET anyway? I thought JET had been pretty much shut down these days (after all the tritium tests) and the focus was on developing ITER. If they manage to pull off some successfull sustained burn tests at ITER (which are really beyond the scope of its design), I'll be impressed and that'll be a very important milestone - but it'll still be decades away from being a practical power source.

Hope has nothing to do with it. The IAEA have had plenty of access to their sites until quite recently, where cooperation dropped off a bit, and know the potential of their centrifuges capabilities. Even the most alarmist estimates based on the data the IAEA have collected indicate that Iran will not have the potential to build even one bomb for at least 5 years. They just won't have enough enriched Uranium to do it. Building a bomb is easy, refining the fissile materials to build it with is the long, hard, expensive part (and delivery systems, they're expensive and complex too - or if you wanted to trigger a fusion reaction with your initial fission reaction, that's tricky).rawls2 wrote:

I'm usually pro-israeli, but if they do that...
Fuck it. I don't even care anymore, much like Spark said. Without creating WWIII, the middle east is pretty much as bad as Nazi-Europe was in 1935-1945

I don't buy the story. It is unable to be confirmed. It uses terms like " a Senior military official", no real names.
