ey guys iv always been a hardcore bf2 fan

i played the 2142 demo a while back and was shocked to find that i actully got board of a pc game.. I GOT BOARD OF IT...

it just did not appeal to me .. the game was realy realy slow
however i just watched a little vid that is from the full version and the game looks alot better all of a sudden

but in that vid movements seems realy jumpy and glitchy is this how it always is

or did the host have a high ping?

I pretty much don't ever get jumpiness like that. It's probably either due to high ping or strain on his system.

yeah 2142 is hell good untill you reach Brigadier General (last rank for points) then its just extremely boring and then you just end up going back to bf2 then you end up going to WoW

As above you don´t need to worry if your pc is ok the game runs really smooth as long your ping is decent.
( Titans are the only thing that brings up lag on occasions though )

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I get lag on Titans, but everyone does. It's just part of the game.

Also, BF2142 seems to run much better on my machine than BF2. It loads much more quickly, it uses about the same amount of system resources, but the game itself runs much more smoothly.

2142 runs wayyyy smoother than BF2, loading times are at least 70% shorter, plus I don't get screen artifacts, black patches and unrealistically bright places on low settings.

All depends on the server for me, just try running it on lower settings. On titans it gets jumpy sometimes, but usually passes after a few seconds, if I'm still alive.

the guy probably had some lag due to running fraps while playing. i regularly get over 20 fps in 2142, sometimes 30 or 40 fps. the game is really smooth if you're not running fraps.

Fraps takes a beating on your system. I will get 60-70 fps. If I try to record a vid it drops it all the way down to the low 20s which makes everything go retarded. Ive always wanted to do some videos but when it gets like that there is no point cause I cant play with that lag.

host didn't had a great connection,

if something that can be said about 2142 then its that 2142 runs way smoother then bf2.

As I understand it, "warp" (that is, where you walk in one direction and end up ten feet in another, etc) is due to dropped packets, not latency.

Conquest maps tend to be more intense than Titan ones. 'Specially the 32-player sized maps.

I agree to that, its more, camp in the tunnels, stick a claymore and a sentry drone in the tunnel and watch your kills grow. Spam grenades down the corridors at the enemy who attempt to get to the consoles. It's not combat its genocide

Nope... far too much lag and the ground war is more important anyway - in the sense that most people think it isn't important and fight on the Titan. Someone has to cap silos, you know. :p

I take it Australia dropped its teaching of the English language?

Anyways, 2142 isn't jumpy all the time. It's pretty smooth if you're on a good server.
