I think having that many subforums would make it a lot slower to navigate. That said, it would mean I could avoid the religion thread flamings more easily. Personally, I think if we kept it as it is, but just added an Off Topic subforum, for D&ST related things, but not ones that are really up for debate. Stuff like the interview thread for instance.

It could be useful, but I don't think the regional categories are a good idea as they'd cause confusion with cross-regional threads eg. "Iran says this but the US says that". History and Religion/Philosophy are good ideas though.

I just think it would lead to more threads placed in the wrong sub categories and everyone uselessly posting "omg nub post in the right section" etc. Not to mention the database changes. I think keeping it as simple as possible is a good way to go. Some of us know what and wherre to post but yeah... you see what happens with all the randoms about.

I think sub forums would end up being more of a hindrance than a help. When a site is as large and content heavy as one like this it's sometimes better to simplify (or at least keep it simple) rather than diversify. Some of the worst websites to navigate are the ones with far too many sections and sub sections.

The D&ST forums need more structure. Sifting through the different threads can be challenging in terms of finding a topic that is of interest. But more importantly the threads, while not the same exact topic, often have the same theme behind them.

I'd hate having to flip through sections. I like everything mixed as it is. Easier to see all the subjects, fewer decisions to make when posting new ones.

Define the [categories] and have a mod sticky them
