I went sniper for one round ever and I got two infiltrator pins in it. BF2142 hasn't killed the sniper even though sniping is not as beneficiary to your team as really anything else.

I don't really play Sniper too often, but when I do, it's like I've been doing it since I was 5. It is just so easy to me. I can get like 25-30 kills in a round with just a sniper rifle easy.
That's a player's fault and not the kit's. As I've said before, when you take out apm mines and detpacks without casualty, you will have utility to a squad.doctastrangelove1964 wrote:

I think sniping on this game is good, Its so statisfying to headshot someone. Just sitting on a water tower and watching the fight below.

If you're going to be useful to the entire team/squad as a sniper, you need to do at least one of the following:
--Rack up massive kills with the sniper, to the point where the enemy screams 'I'm not fucking going out there, I just watched three guys' heads get blowed off!' For me, an average round might end with me killing 20-30 guys, most of them with the sniper rifle.
--Carry APM's and RDX to cover your squads ass when defending a flag
--Act as a spotter to point out long-distance threats (VOIP or comma rose) and eliminate the biggest threats to your squad, if at all possible...basically keep them covered.

I have to admit when I first started out playing 2142 I wasn't sure I'd get on with sniping like i did on BF2 but it's just the same for me now. Scope sway isn't an issue if you aim and shoot fast, the cross-hair hasn't had a chance to move so it makes no difference to the shot, so no the sniper isn't dead in 2142 (unless I'm aiming at them )
