I have more than enough machine to run BF2 and have played for over a year.  About 6 months ago, it stopped loading.  I've tried every tweak and upgrade I can find.  My machine is running better than it ever has, but BF2 still will not load.

Sometimes it shows the splash screen, but then nothing.  Most of the time it just does nothing when I open BF2.  I've tried everything short of upgrading my system BIOS.  Yesterday, just for kicks, I loaded it and it ran great.  I quit and loaded it again, it worked again.  I should have never shut off my machine, but I rebooted this morning and again, BF2 will not load.

I tried to think of what changed when it stopped working and the only think I could think of was that I changed to AT&T Online Protection through my Yahoo DSL provider.  However I normally shut all this stuff off before I try to play BF2.

I hear ya! My BF2 stopped loading as well all the sudden, without ANY changes at all. Now I reinstalled it, or atleast tried. Because the SF installer will dissapear the same way BF2 did when I started it. Now my windows XP is a pretty fresh install, about 3weeks now or something so I won't blame it. ALL other games/programs works just fine...

Anyone got an idea of how to get the SF installed? I played the vanilla BF yesterday but those jetwhores are just gay...

And, yes. I've pathed it, I've rebooted, I've manually uninstalled, I've removed the BF2 folder in My Documents (yesterday I had to live with the stupid voice telling me what to click..)
