This really is a non-story, since she didn't even ask for the plane herself. Seems like her aide was just talking nonsense since there are a lot more efficient planes that can go the same distance.
This is a non-story as UGA mentioned, because the AIDE asked for her to have the bigger jet, not Pelosi herself.
When questioned later about this, she said that these kind of decisions were handled by her staff, so she didn't even personally request the plane. Unfortunately, her aide was asking for a bit much, so then people automatically assume Pelosi made the choice.
This is like blaming Bush for Michael Brown's decisions during Hurricane Katrina.

Bullshit. She's a politician. She told her aides what she wanted and then goes and denies it. Her aides won't say anything different because they like their jobs.Turquoise wrote:

You could be right. But then again, many make similar claims about Bush. I'd rather reserve judgment on both.DSRTurtle wrote:

Besides, if the most dirt you can find on Pelosi is a plane request, then you're not looking hard enough.
It would be like me complaining about how Bush continued reading to the kids at that school after he'd been told that the twin towers had been attacked.
Don't look now but you cannot stop talking about Bush.Turquoise wrote:

LOL... True. Think about it though. I'm not the biggest fan of Pelosi, but I'm also starting to see the frustration that conservatives have with people complaining about Bush. It's just that I understand it through the equivalent focus that Pelosi and Hillary get.usmarine2007 wrote:

The media picks somebody representative of a party and nitpicks them.
One source blasts Bush for every little thing, while another blasts Pelosi or Clinton for the same kind of stuff.
If you've got a bone to pick with someone, find something important. Why not mention Pelosi's controversial proposal about a 5-day work week in Congress that she recently reneged on? That has more substance.
I don't give a shit about a plane request -- especially one that didn't even go through.
