I have liked gladiator movies ever since that one about the guy who's family was killed by the other guy and he beat up the other guy in the hotel with the phone.

That kicked ass.

Hi Pete, Band of Brothers is my favorite movie.  Look forward to seeing some posts from you, I think with your background you will bring a lot to this forum.

Oh, and in advance, please don't take any rants I direct toward you too seriously.  I sometimes say things about Europeons I don't really mean but it is fun to wind them up and watch them go.

Stole Sup.'s format cause it is good. Thought I might introduce myself as I've been reading this part of forum on and off since late '05 and it was the first part of these forums I took a real interest in. Prefer to read and learn/be entertained rather than actively argue a viewpoint.

Name:
    James/Jim or Richard/Dick
Age:
    18
From:
Top End, NT, the real Outback, Australia.
Reside:
    Still in the general area.
Profession:
Currently between jobs (ie. bum), have been working in labouring/security positions since I left school.
Education:
Err this is the NT. They give us a knife and throw us in the deep end to fend for ourselves. (Shite education system)
Languages:
English, a tiny tiny bit of German.
Interests:
Martial arts, modern history, military history, movies, gaming, hiking, long walks, swimming, rock climbing, partying, religions..
Political Leanings:
Economic conservative is the only clearly defined leaning I have. I think.
Religion:
N/A, I find their psychological, social and political impacts highly interesting though.
Hero:
Ahmad Shah Massoud, the Lion of Panjshir.
Music:
Taste is rather broad and hard to pin down, the only thing that remains the same is I like classical music.
Favourite movie:
The Shawshank Redemption, the book is good too but it doesn't have Morgan Freeman.
Books:
    Ghost Wars by Steve Coll
The Yes Man by Danny Wallace
    Somme Mud by E.P.F Lynch
    More that I cbf listing.

The innocent people of Baghdad deserve turmoil and unrest because Saddam's regime oppressed the Kurdish region in the north? Great logic there usmarine.

Who do you fear would most likely kill you in Iraq?  Islamic Militants, US troops, general crime, Islamic mob violence caused by XYZ?

Also, what would happen to you if you set up a free doughnuts and coffee stand a block away from a Mosque during Ramadan just before the noon time prayers start?

I am just curious about this stuff.  MTV needs a real world Iraq show.

I don't know who will kill me, but I would say the chance of me getting killed by each of those group is equal. Regardless of whether it is accidental or not.

Regardless selling the doughnuts and coffee, I would imagine that they won't be very happy. I am not sure what would they do though. I would imagine, a letter telling me to GTFO, or otherwise end my life. Restaurants managed by Muslim people gets covered during Ramadan.

Oh, that's right, only people who serve in the military are American now.  You keep hiding behind that uniform and tossing turds at people, it really reflects well on the Army.
