Here what I think were some of the best weapons of world wars 2, please remember this is just my personal opinion and please post yours.

INFANTRY WEAPONS.

HAND GUNS.

Colt M1911

Runners up P38 and the Luger.

SUB-MACHINE GUNS.

PPSH-41.

Runners up Thompson and the MP40 Schmeisser.

RIFLES.

M1 Garand

Runners up MP44, M1 carbine and the Lee Enfield No.I Mk.III

MACHINE GUNS.

MG-42

Runners up Browning .30 and .50 cal and the Bren Light Machine Gun.

HAND HELD ANTI-TANK.

Panzerfaust.

Runners up Bazooka, PIAT and the Panzerschreck.

Ships: Yamoto class, come on! A bunch of 17" canons can't be wrong.

Aircraft: Me-262, you can't deny it, having a jet that actually works in 1945 really is something.

The Bazooka was an AWFUL weapon, couldn't penetrate hardly any armour! Reports show that it was only luck that it destroyed anything, even a halftrack. The same goes for the British PIAT. Truely a terrible weapon, it has only been recorded that it ever destroyed two unarmoured German cars!

The M1 Garand was quite effective but with the 8 round internal mag the "ping" upon ejection got many soldiers killed due to the huge "I'M RELOADING!" sound.

The MP40 was a very inconcieved weapon. As it only had a wooden stock on the 41 version which was produced in stupidly small numbers this weapon was dumb. Germans hands froze to it during the Russian winter. Also the trigger guard was too small for a gloved finger, meaning that most german troops had to take their gloves off to fire it, thus freezing their hands. Also if you overfired it there is no heatguard or hand guard so many germans hands were burnt giving suppressive fire. (Which was meant to be the MG42 job but they could only fire in 4 second bursts. Something the Allies took advantage of.)

The Russian Tokerev SVT was exceedingly good in the winter campaigns. Large magasine and good accuracy.

The MP44 was good but the shoulder rest constantly fell off due to they were attepting to mass produce while being beaten back to Berlin.

The PPSh-41 was a gem of a gun. HUGE round capability, 71 rounds were damn good! Hugh rate of fire, solid wooden stocks so no freezing. Massive finger guard so a gloved finger could fit in. Never jammed!
