hmmm, lemme just say first that im an english aussie with an american fiancee, so im not prejudice against americans, but i am against stupidity. I somehow think that if it was me that went out and pegged a few yank hats while wearing my limey hat, it would have been across the world in an instant, and theyd throw me to the wild boars and everyone would have their justice.

apparently not so for the expendable british getting BSOD'd by some ops controller who cant hack the pace, where is THEIR justice, just makes me sick that theres nothing being said about consequences or disciplanary action.

not that the pilots need it of course, theyre gonna have to live with knowing they super sheeped their so called "friendlies" for the rest of their lives.. and ultimatly... they should

in the end its them that pulls the trigger innit guv

Mike you should realize that there is a fighting aspect of war and theres a moral aspect of war. Releasing this video accomplished nothing other than making brits and the us cringe. GET OVER IT. Friendly fire is a fact of war there were hundreds of ff incidents in vietnam more in WW2 and im sure several in WW1. Its a fucking tragedy but getting all bent out of shape and causing a uproar solves nothing except make or soldiers question their superiors. And dont try to put a evil spin on this it was a fucking accident.

Put Blair & Bush in the dock & get them to compensate the Families out

I know of an incident, unpublished, where a soldier was shot and his friend was helping him until a medic could get there.  When the medic started to run over there with another guy, an RPG hit near them sending them to the ground.  The one soldiers weapon fired when he hit the ground, killing the soldier who was helping his injured friend.  The family was told he died trying to save his friends life...which he was. 

Now, what good does it do to tell them every detail?

It was covered up to prevent support dropping in allied countries for US led actions during the early stages,neccesary for the war to progress/suceed...

I usually listen intently to anti american rants, but this was an accident, the guy said there was NO friendlies in the area,so they bombed(..their job)
I feel sorry for the killed soldier and his wife/family.

There is a similar type incident happening in Australia where 1 Aussie soldier(in Iraq)shot dead another Aussie soldier at base camp, but the military/govermnet findings were that he shot himself with his own rifle...he had a wife and kids......there is presently a coverup as to what really happened and they even leaked that the other soldiers prints were on the dead guys gun, but that it meant nothing...?

DEAD is FUCKING DEAD, if i had some bean counter tell me my son had died due to friendly fire after the fact, I would crush his fucking skull.  DEAD is DEAD. I dont give a flying fuck how.  All i need to know was my son was killed in a combat zone, and i will respect him for being the warrior he was.    i dont care if he died on the crapper due to constipation.  DEAD is fucking DEAD no matter what you sugar coat it with its the loss of a life...

There i a reason they don't tell people it was a Blue on Blue action, look at Tillman.  Blue on Blue action, the family found out because of a nosey reporter and the mother flipped out madder then shit, when word leaked.

thats how calling in an airstrike works.  ESPECIALLY if there are friendly boots on the ground. How do i know this?  Im a fucking Infantryman.  I fight for a damned living, and I have had F15s do gun runs on a building right next door to the high rise I was on.  I have also seen several hellfires, and apaches and kiowa's do gun runs.  They only fire when they have someone ON THE GROUND guiding them. That means there was a bloody brit calling in a fire mission.  Now be it him calling his TOC, and the TOC calling the american air liason, or FIRES officer, somewhere the commands got screwed up, the pilots should have known there was DANGER CLOSE.  The brits on the ground should have known there was an inbound airstrike and got down.
Who ever the assclown was that was calling for the airstrike is a douche.  Not the pilots, they were walked onto the target.

TArgets of opertunity are one thing, but never when there is friendly forces near, if danger is close they have to be called on target.
