I couldn't agree more with what they are doing here. I'm sorry, if its your belief or not in your homeland, thats where it stays. The west has very different views on what is morally permissible. so if you don't like it. don't come here. Besides, who should have to fucking write a law that says "you cant put acid on someone or that you cant burn them alive". HI YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT IS NOT RIGHT(but in the east where women are objects, IT IS RIGHT, right? wrong. everyone is entitled to common laws under the united nations universal declaration of human rights. im pretty sure burning people alive isnt one of the human rights listed.), whether your beliefs tell you to or not. how would you like it if someone did it to you, fuckers.

Nothing threatening about it, but unfortunately it IS "odd" because so rarely do we stand up for ourselves.

In France, some non-Muslim women are wearing hijabs because in their neighbourhood they are verbally abused otherwise. In Britain, imams (on welfare, of course) openly call for Britain to "return to Islam". (When were they ever there?) The most popular name for a newborn male in Denmark is "Mohammed".
In Canada we ALMOST had sharia law in Toronto, until the Premier made the right decision!

The only ones "threatened" are the beheading, genital-mutilating, misogynist Muslims who are gradually overwhelming our flaccid West.

first of all.. your using an Australian news source for something relavent in Canada (sort of).. now if you had done research you would have found that this town consists of 1300 ppl none of which are immigrants (possibly one immigrant family according to a website called canoenews??) .. this is a small town of roman catholics caught up in what they do best, fearmongering... it is so not important at all.. way to dig for absolutely useless news..

No - my parents the European immigrants are not threatened at all. I also suspect that Asian immigrants, and Latin American immigrants, and Caribbean immigrants have no problem with laws that permit their women to drive and not have acid splashed all over them.

Canada is still waiting for the trial of the Toronto Muslims (although the police went to great pains to avoid linking them by religion - it was pathetic) who planned to blow up Parliament and behead the Prime Minister. Those piles of feritilizer plus circuit boards might have innocent uses though....

Canada is still waiting for the Khadr family (whose father was killed, son wounded, in Afghanistan while fighting US forces) to be deported, while they enjoy free health care as "citizens".

Canada is still waiting for the pro-Hezbollah marchers in Montreal and Calgary to denounce terror.

Canada is still waiting for Liberal MP Omar Alghabra to respond after he was videotaped yelling: "This is a victory for Islam! Islam won! Islamic power is extending into Canadian politics!"

Damn good post... Thankfully, most Muslims that immigrate to the West are already pro-Western, reformist, and/or moderate. Most of the ultraconservatives and extremists stay in their native countries.

One place in the West where this is slowly changing is the U.K. Unfortunately, there is a growing extremist problem there, mostly due to corrupt clerics and impressionable youths.

Oddly enough, America, the most hated of all the Western nations, sees very little of this extremist stuff because we have (or we used to) pursue the melting pot strategy of culture, rather than having a bunch of disjointed groups living next to but not with each other. Europe is failing to assimilate its immigrants into society and it's creating problems for them.
