So how many 'middle eastern types' have sneaked through the Mexican border undetected while the US have been foolishly engaged in seeing through the 'war on terror in Iraq'? I'm willing to wager that it's in the thousands. This kind of proves my point that the US have their priorities wrong, especially with regards to security. Mucking about in the middle east is doing nothing to prevent further terrorism on US home soil.

Ya, weird.  I was born here.

Domestic security + waging war > terrorists control of the Middle East/infiltration of the US

CPoe, I don’t see it as a coincidence that we have not been attacked on US soil since 9/11.  Our security is not perfect and certainly the border must be addressed.  However, I’d rather keep the enemy busy versus waiting over here for one group of nutjobs to find a hole to sneak through to hit the US again.  I agree with you that waging war and not properly securing the border shows a misalignment of our priorities.  A combination of domestic security and hitting the enemy before they get to our country seems most effective.

Edit: +1 for a good point, CPoe.

I don't think the terrorists will come through Mexico.  They still have to eat, and the food just absolutely sucks something fierce.
