heys guys!
yet another RAM question!
i was flicking through the PR wiki and found the SR for PR v0.4 was 1gb of RAM + somthing else
is this true?
i have only got 512 mb RAM and if i playPR wat would happen?
i rly want PR but its 1.6 gb and my dad MIGHT let me download it but i dout it

wat would happen to my (or my dads) PC if i downloaded PR and played it?

Not really sure. I haven't looked at hardware in a while and don't know what the pricing is like over there. It also depends on what type of RAM you need and if you're going to replace what's already there or just add to it. Maybe one of the guys in the UK will have a better idea.

Half the settings on high, half on medium, all shadows off, view distance 100%

I have 768MB of RAM and an ATi Radeon 9600. Guess how I run PR on all low + effects on high: barely any lag at all.

IMO PR runs about like BF2....If anything I find it runs better?
If you can run BF2 fine you should be OK

i just got PR tonight and i'll never go back to bf2...

anywho, it runs pretty much the same as bf2, 2gb is recommended for all high settings, and you'll notice a huge performance increase all around by getting another 512 mb, or even 2gb if you can afford it

since you only have 512MB, i'm guessing your computer is somewhat old and has some cheap ram. you could probably get a GB for $50 nowadays.

It will lag to high heaven on yours. With my rig the only maps that loag ar Operation Greasy Mullet and Al Fallujah

I get lag sometimes when the game starts, and my looking around becomes very erratic. After about 8 seconds of lag, though, I no longer experience any more lag for the rest of the time I'm playing.

Is it something to do with loading textures/skins/objects?

yeah same here i can play pr ok
i tried albasarh
but i lost connection

EDIT: my ping is REALLY fucked up in PR!
1 min its at 50
next its at like 500
then back again
i get kicked for high ping when my pings is at like 50

WTF IS WRONG WITH IT????
