I would laugh if this turned out to be a fake after all that discussion on it's capabilities...........................
Artists impression of a super 10 looks sexyspray_and_pray wrote:
Wait it says the Super 10 is going to be a stealth aircraft.... dont beleive it till I research it some more.
To compare to the eurofighter image

Damn the F-14 was sweet. How much i'd wish to see it still flying "sigh".surgeon_bond wrote:

Well besides the fact that the J10 is less capable in almost all roles then the F16C(which is pretty much at the bottom of our multirole aircraft and is about to be phased out) I would like to congratulate them on now only being 20 years behind.
Oh, and if your taking BF2 as a accurate description of the capabilities of any vehicle or weapon you are very close to the stupidest person on the planet.

Well considering the Eurofighter is close to 7 years old compared to the F15 which is over 30 years old.....you fail.....also considering the F16 is not a air superiority fighter but a multi role cheaply produced aircraft you fail times 2.spray_and_pray wrote:
You do know that the Eurofighter outclasses a F15 currently the US's best jet that and the F16.
Now adding to how the J-10 looks by the artists: Looks like it's stealth capabilities will be that of the A-10 Warthog... The curves and edges will not absorb the radar on the Super 10 but rather deflect them, giving it away. Yay for China not having stealth technologies. *sigh* why does anyone even try to get a better jet than the US?Commie Killer wrote:

what do they do with all old fighter jets ounce the new ones come out?
I don't mean to offend, but I thought the cannards were a necessity to delta wing fighters because of the shortcomings of the delta wing design. With the ailerons ant the very rear of the plane they have to exert a significantly greater moment on the airframe to create the same turning force as the ailerons on a plane of the F-22's wing type, which has them closer to the center of mass. My thought is technically the cannards aren't an advantage.spray_and_pray wrote:
However the J10 surpases the F22 in turn capability because it will also have cannards as well as thrust vectoring.
Also, the F-22's have already been deployed to Langley Air Force Base, VA
I don't doubt your aerospace knowledge, I'm just a lowly Mechanical Engineer

Eventually phase them out of service most likely. Or just keep them and still use them.sithao wrote:

They are either sold to another nation(allied of course), put in a bone yard, chopped up and parts sold, or parts taken off for replacements.sithao wrote:

The J-10's performance is said to be equal to a late model F-16 and maneuverability is that of early 5th gen Western fighters. The new variant hasn't even been put through trials. Chinese air power is the same doctrine as the old USSRs mass produce fighters to gain air superiority through numbers, and if the J-10 line is so awsome, why are the selling it on the open market??
Ugh, with the whoring the current J-10 has this one would be god on the Battlefield.
check out this then

I love that all there sources are sited as "Internet". Lmfao.
How can you tell it doesn't have stealth? It just doesn't have shaping. There's a difference.Miller wrote:

The F35 will still beat the Super 10; the US has better pilots.
If the criteria for being a better pilot was the size of your ego, anyway.R0lyP0ly wrote:

They sell them on EBAY...sithao wrote:

Love is the answer
Or buy dealer direct... you can get a MiG-29M for $10 mil, according to this site: http://www.aircraftbargains.com/ad/ad355.asp[TUF]Catbox wrote:

As for this whole debate, I'm even wondering whether the Super-10's are actually going to be introduced. I remember reading an article somewhere that a lot of flaws still exist with its design, therefor alot of effort and time will be needed to perfect it.
I'm no expert on planes, not even a novice in fact. Could someone explain why 2 engines is that much better than one? I understand that you end up with more power, and with 2 engines, I imagine you get a bit of back up if one goes out on you. I would have thought the extra weight of the engine and the higher fuel consumption would mean they would not be able to stay in the air as long without refueling though. So isn't it a balancing act between grunt, firepower, ability to spend time in the air, maneuverability and reliability?
For one, not one person has mentioned electronics. That is what makes the F-35 such a superior jet. As far as maneuverability, the euroclass way outperforms the F-35. This means nothing, considering they can't find the F-35. By the time they are seen, they will be on their way home. Again, there is no such thing as an "air war" against the U.S..
