BF2S Forums Deleting BF2 game from computer and installing a new BF2 set

I would like to know if I will lose my currents stats if I delete BF2 from my computer so that I may load BF2 with the Special Forces expansion pack. I thought I could just add the expansion pack to my computer but according to EA games info on the owner manual, it states that any previous versions of BF2 must be removed. My problem would be if I do this and then reload the 4 BF2 disc's which include the SF expansion...would I lose my stats and everything else??? Since I have played with my original BF2 discs I thought that once the server sees a different CD KEY, it would think I am someone else. Please advise since I would hate to continue playing and then find out I will lose everything. Thanks in advance to all............
