Meh, in my class I was the only one who gave a shit about history and the only one who bothered to learn about the Holocaust outside school. Then people got pissed at me for cracking jokes about it when they truly didn't give a shit. Apparently, learning about it, understanding it and remembering it along with cracking a joke or two about it is more insensitive than not giving a shit about it at all outside of checking off boxes for school and otherwise ignoring it as much as possible.

I watched Schindler's List yesterday (for the second time). You forget it's in black and white while you're watching it.

All the same every night at 7:30 the whole town gathers round the 12" black and white screen in the pub and watches the half hour of news we get before the broadcast goes down again until the next night. Yep, caused some great old debates in the pub since we all chipped in to get one; cost us about $50 so that's what... $5 each. I heard you guys down south get it in colour and you have it for more than half an hour a day?
