Absofreakinglutely nothing. They sit and breed, breed, whinge, drink, breed, drink, breed, whinge, whinge, breed. Not necessarily in that order. But its basically true. Only true Australian aboriginies are the ones that still live outback and dont have government support. I like those ones.usmarine2007 wrote:

today most aborigines are on the doll or still bitching about there land which they will do nothing with.
Also, it should be standard viewing for everyone wanting to learn about modern Aborigines to watch the film "Australian Rules"
We did nearly wipe out the Native Americans here, but it took a while-Aussies tried to get efficient about it

Right...........so waging a war on a people is a less efficient form of killing people than radiation poisoining from being near to a nuke, after relocating many of them?
Besides which, those tests were the British, which you would know if you'd read the links in my post (again, Wikipedia comes through on the broad details).

Well at least you didn't have the truly brilliant idea of Assimilation (now known as "the stolen generations"), which was the policy of forcibly removing "half-caste" aborigines from their parents and placing them in special facilities...

Actually, we didn't just remove half-castes. Basically, any Aboriginal child was fair game. A truly sad period in our history.............
With Menzies approved of courseBubbalo wrote:

Menzies was to Britain what Howard is to the USA.
Aussie, British, whatver, my point is the the Government (not the people) are responsible (even if the Gov 'represents' the people). We (US) were sneaky about it- 'here have some blankets' is one example. I don't agree with or like any of it. Those 'cide' words.Bubbalo wrote:

The most we were told about it here in the US is 'Quigley Down Under'.
Yes. Your waging of war on Indians was so very sneaky. I bet they never noticed you shooting at them. Nope, not at all.
We did not wage war- it was genocide. When we weren't shooting them we tried to make peace, by giving small-pox blankets to them. I say 'we' but I am 1/8 Native American, my ancestors helped kill my people.
Spark, those initiation ceremonies... Ouch.
I have a mate who went through one, he spent 2 weeks in hospital afterward because he got an infection down there... You know, when they circumcised him. Apparently it hurts a fair bit.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
There isn't really for humans. We change the environment around us too much to suit our needs for us ever to consider ourselves to be living in a sustainable manner. That's a debate for another time though.Spark wrote:

But you don't understand: by your logic, even animals can't live in a sustainable manner, because if their was a lower mortality rate, they'd go rampant.
You also missed the original point of my statement. Wasn't after a debate, more pointing out that there seems to be a popular belief that they care for the environment in a big way. From what I've seen, they are as bad as most other people. Not just the original culture too, long grassers litter in a major way up here, it's disgusting the amount of rubbish they leave in the bush around the town. (Father's business is contracted to clean it up... Generally can get them to help on the spot if they haven't been drinking.) It's like this around the NT.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
But they did live in balance with their environment, same as most cultures outside of Europe and Asia pre-European Colonialism.

Oh, right, silly me, thinking that modern Australia is just a unification of the British colonies that took part.<<<FTDM>>>Gen.Raven wrote:

Ive worked with a few that were good blokes, but the ones that are in the red centre and the centre of the cities are a bit crazy...
Haha, and some of our governments continued the programs (fucking wankers).Bubbalo wrote:
