Should we be governed by a "world government", with the United Nations Assembly becoming a directly elected parliament? Should nation-states give up more of their sovereignty to supranational institutions?

P.S

Even if any agreement is possible (and agreement is by no means guaranteed)

World Government should be an ideal towards which we gradually work. The obviously universal problems of human rights and the environment obviously cry out for universal solutions

Don’t you find that ironic for peace to happen or (The world to come together) we must get rid of religion…

Yes I do.  Religion has been the base of ALL wars.

religion would be fine, but people dont listen to theirs and fight over the differences of religion of their religions and other, and then of course you have your extremists which is a another stupid story

Morals and righteousness were/are based of religious ideals.

So, where did religion factor in to the second Iraq War?

So, then, the fact that I'm not part of a religion means I have no morals, and cannot act in a manner conducive to conflict?  Because my near perma-ban says otherwise.

Everyone thinks they are doing the right thing and that God supports them.  How can you reach true peace with that?

That doesn't prove that all wars are because of religion.  In fact, most big, modern wars, including World Wars I and II, were the result of economic issues.

Religious and morals are two different things, friend. You can't say by any means that all people that follow a religion have morals and are righteous, and you can't say that people with morals follow a religion.

Religious wars are more like attritions, they are not full scale like the wars we think about. A bombing here, a bombing there...some assassinations, etc. Those are religious wars.

The full scale wars aren't based off of religion.

Not always. What I do in my life are based off of my morals, but at the same time I am not religious and my ideals aren't told to me by a god. I still disagree with people and wish to fight them sometimes. (the smaller scale equivalent to a war)

Would those actions not eventually lead to full scale war?

That kind of crap has been going on in the middle east since the beginning of man. It's attrition, not war.

I think we're going about this the wrong, SysTray.  Perhaps we should ask usmarine to give us a rundown of the cause of both World Wars, and their relation to religion.

Too bad his brain will implode trying to figure out how Hitler was fighting for his god.
