Sometimes I play, the game "hangs" like if I press W and after I release it it still keeps going forward, like the game thinks I'm still pressing the button.
That sometimes happens for me, normally just hitting the "W" key again sorts the problem out.Hacial wrote:

I'm not sure if it's a keyboard problem or software (as I think xfire has something to do with it), either way the fix is simple.
For me hitting the keys does not work, I just gotta hope it stops soon. And this happens without Xfire.
It may be a keyboard issue. Remove the key and see if their is any material on the contact. Alot of times stuff gets wedge in there especially when you snack at your desk. I remember working on this one guys keyboard and a whole set of finger nail clipping fell out of the keyboard just by shaking it. Gross :{
I assume "it" keeps walking forward. I have the same problem. But it only started to happen once I installed Armor Forces and Euro Forces.

No good resolution yet.
What are you playing when it happens, vanilla.
Go with ncc6206 suggestion or replace the keyboard.
Let us know what happens
Edit:
This post also has some other ideas as to why

Got new keyboard and it got wire unlike the previous which was wireless. Problem still exists.
Do you have an ATI graphics card? If yes, it's either ATI Tool (if you've installed it) or ATI Hotkey Poller that's causing the problem. Uninstall (ATITool) or disable (Hotkey Poller) the apropriate services and the problem will be gone.

15 more years! 15 more years!
and if you go forward and press j k or l to chat, you also keep walking forward, but that's probably not the problem.
Uhm so I should reinstall my ati drivers?redilS wrote:

No, no need to reinstall the drivers. Go to Start > Run and call 'services.msc', find the entry for "ATI Hotkey Poller" and set it's start-type to 'disabled'. Note: you need to reboot your computer.Hacial wrote:

The Hotkey poller is known to cause several problems like screen flickering when using a crossfire setup and also the issue you're experiencing
//EDIT:
Thanks for the +1 ... so I assume my hint was correct
