please i need major help. my knife combat badge. it seems such an easy badge to get because most people have it... i dont and without major tips and help i dont tink ill get it. its so frustrating!!!! i had 4 kills and was going for the next when the round ended...ARGHHHHHH!!!!! please guys give me tips on how to knife properly and easily so i can get my badge by next week. i really want it. i have all the badges in both games (helo doesnt count coz i can get that easily, just havent tried) pleaseim begging you guys... i was so pi**ed off when i tried and tried to get the knife badge.

edit: damn i just figured it is 7 kills with knife not 5. EVEN WORSE.

I know your pain! Got my badge yesterday, on a 64 player Sharqi map, 64 people playing. My tip is play as MEC, and spawn at their middle base. Try to sneak up to the first US base, there'll be a few snipers and such there. Go from behind, or if the see you, bunny hop like mad, swinging wildly! Also, try to lay low until you see an enemy, then follow him. Dont worry, you'll get it eventually!

My tips are to pick a city map running on the large 64 map settings with about 36-48 players. Too many people on a server means too many stray bullets. Next, go Sniper. Sounds odd, but Sniper is by far the fastest player class. Pull you knife and head to a choke point on the map where a lot of enemies tend to flow through.

Now, here is where is gets tricky. NEVER EVER try to run around knifing people standing UP, unless you want to die quickly. The best technique is to run (sprint) at a player and dive at their feet. Yes, their feet. Typically, they are shooting at chest or head level, so their gun will not follow you as fast to the ground. One quick stab to the knee or boot will kill them. I have used this style to take out two or three players in a row while they were all trying to shot me in a crowd. UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN. They just have trouble tracking you with their MGs/Rifles while you are killing them with one strike.

i got mine on Karkand.  it was either a 32 or 64 player map.  You and others may not want to hear this, but I had to spawn camp to get it.  But I don't care.  I was USMC and across from the first MEC flag (the Hotel), there are 2 spawn points for MEC.  One on the Archway and the other by the mounted machine gun.  sneak your way to the street behind these 2 points and run back and forth knifing the bastards as they appear.  You will die a bunch, but youll get it eventually.  and that diving at the feet thing works damn good too.  good luck.

yeah cheers guys... but ive tried that man... no luck. knifing people on spawn points back and forth... yep thats what ive done and whats happened is a big bunch of pissed off guys turn around and noob tube me, (after i knife them once or twice at the same point) every bloody time. that strategy doesnt work for me neither does the one diving at peoples feet. but im getting very diferent opinions as thmas morgan clearly showed. in other posts about knifing people say kharkand is a no no for knifing and sharqi is the one for that.. i would like people to give me a few strategies on knfing there. thnx

It shouldn't be so hard. I'm not really tried it by my self because I don't care that much about badges. But as some one said in some topic, do not run whole round with your knive. Use your gun as your main weapon and use your knive just when there's chance to use it. It really don't work if you run whole run with knive and keep dieing. And I think that some city map (Karkand is maybe the best one) should be the best way to get that badge 'cause there's so many corners and snipers. Well.. I'll try that badge now, let's see what will happen.

I got to earn my knife badge really quick.. or else no First Seargent for me.. and NEVER to use the knife again.


This sucks. the whole IAR thing with knife stabs. I already poked 40+ ppl, and its just not possible for me to do it 7 IAR.

one more thing.. I really, HONESTLY, dont believe all the folks with the expert knife badge. It's just doesnt make any logic to me how can one kill 18 times using a knife IAR.

oberst_enzian - with all the people YOU reply.. a quick look it your stats showed me two things :
1) dalom is your worst enemy (11 kills)
2) =VZE=Fetzer is your worst enemy (7 kills)

and to think you have such a good combat raiting with *only* 15 knife kills.. which is enough for veteran badge. That means that you DID stat pad. period.

I love knives.  I've gone entire rounds just using it, even after getting my badges.  The key is timing, and not going after a guy with a shotgun.  =/

My tip for you is to just practice your timing, and try and take them by surprise.  Also, always go on Karkand with a size-32 map and 32 players.

The case is even worse.. The stats padder is BlueScreen which has 35K+ score.

no problem mate. but it really got me angry: i worked really long and hard for those badges!! i found the knife to be the hardest, and most frustrating, so getting those badges without any kind of cheating made me REALLY happy! Got em on Karkand by the way, mostly charging up and down that central alley way near the hotel spawn, along with some snipers spotted with UAV, and a couple of sprints up to GL reloading bunnyhoppers.

What we need is an expert knife killer. We hire them to log into our account and kill kill kill! with the knife. We get our badge and they get some cash. Then we never use the knife again.

you've got to have some crazy medics :p i knifed a guy and some crazy medic rushed over to save him, and bam : 2 knife kills did that a couple of times and had it real quick

My advice is be the sniper.  You'll look less suspicious,.. and your alternate weapons will pretty much suck for CQB so you wont be as tempted to use them.  Look for other snipers as well (the commander is usually an easy one too).

Its do-able man.. very do-able.. I got my vet badge just goofin off.  Now the expert may take some actual work.. or a server that is only half full and 400000 tickets left.

Hell yeah, I'm all for that . The only time I get a knife out is to carve some meat. The one kill I have with a knife was accidental.... I was carving my name into a tree (Karkand), a guy runs at me yelling something about the destruction of the rainforest, I jump in the air through fright, throwing the knife up, a second later he's on the ground dead

you know how you guys are saying go to a server with tons of people preferably in the city and with tons of tickets to get my knife badge... any server suggestions???? i have lots ive carefully picked out for my enjoyment but none of tehm meet those stats... im going to get the badge tomorrow (cant today have BIOLOGY exam and two spanish ones tomorrow- although i already speak fluent spanish lol )

Another good strategy is camping ladders in 32+ city maps.  9 times out of 10 snipers go for ladders to snipe, duh.  I received my intial knife and Veteran Pistol that way.  Just sit back from the edge of the ladder laying down and wait for some poor sniper sap (or anyone else for that matter) to come up the ladder and then gut his @ss.  I wouldn't stya there long as that person will probably come back and toss a nade your way.  Just work off a few points on interest and 7 kills IAR is easy as pie.  I am to lazy to get my knife badge but doesn't mean you can't.

Also look for AFK spawns.  If you are on a populated map and find someone spawning but not moving time and time again, just keep alive and you've got your badge.  I know everyone is saying go Sniper when knifing but I prefer the Medic.  Reason being if you don't knife the poor bastard on the first try, he will probably be pumping you full of lead.  Run around a corner and toss a med pack, heal, repeat. 

All else fails and your just a badge whore, might as will be a stats padder also.  Get a couple friends to join you on a ranked server and just kill each other with the knife.  Have 2 buddys on the enemy side. 1 a medic, have the guy be whatever.  Your enemy buddy can let you stab him and then the enemy medic buddy can revive him.  Stab, Revive, Rinse, Repeat.  Peice of cake.

beautiful idea!!!!!! that one about friends... but i cant i have no friends that play this game im rejected.... oh well, i might have better luck next time lol (NOT!!!!!!!!!!!)

Tip: Large servers with a knife may sound good but you'll destroy your k:d ratio... trust me on this one. Most people just charge at you with a knife trying to get the badge, and i'm sure you're trying to do the same.

STOP.

Being presistent will eventually work doing it like that, a lot of people have done it but it's not for me. I started off doing the same thing but after getting myself swiss cheesed multiple times i knew i had to try a different approach.

The very first round i tried my new approach I got my basic knife badge. The next round i got my basic pistol badge. When it was time to get my vet badges i did the exact same thing and guess what. Two rounds in a row and i got both my vet badges.

What did i do?

Map: Dragon Valley for all 4.

Why Dragon Valley? Just cuz I like this map and i know it well. I know the spawn points, i know what flags the opposing sides usually go for and hence what position i should be in. Point? Play a map you know well.

Kit: Spec Ops

Doesn't matter what kit you pick but i prefer Spec Ops... i associate knifing with Rambo and he was special forces so it kinda goes, you know? No other reason.

How?

Use transports to get to where you wanna be fast (jeeps/buggies... humvee's are too slow). Where you wanna be is BEHIND the enemy lines. What enemy line? You wanna be where a flag has recently been captured by the opposing side. Why? A) Because whenever a new flag is captured, everyone and their mother wants to spawn there. B) Your team will be coming to take it back and so they'll be too busy trying to fend off your teammates from the front to see you sneaking up behind them.

If you see the opposing side taking a flag. LET THEM. Stop wasting time trying to attack them when you could be using that time to get in position BEHIND them. Knife the flag capper when he takes the flag and then hide and WAIT. His friends and him too will be coming soon.

When you attack with the knife, dive at his feet. I know it's cheesy but hey it works. And when you're up against someone with a gun and you're holding a knife, anything goes. Diving i find increases your knife range around your target.

Be fast, be sneaky or get shot. It's that simple. Good luck.

I know what you mean, but you should not assume that it's an easy badge because a lot of people have it.  IT IS NOT an easy badge.  There is a trick though:  it's best to try it on a server with few players, or with players spread out.  32-player Karkand with a 16 player max on the server would work well.  The idea is that it's a lot more likely to knife someone if they're alone, and it's more likely to get them alone if there's few people on the server.  Another advantage is that rounds last much longer with few people, but watch out for blitzers.  Blitzing is another strategy on these servers making the rounds much shorter than what is possible with more people because defenses are spread thiner.  Also, this is a good setup to get many ribbons that require high teamwork points.
